Doggonit! I donated early (last Tuesday) after reading EarlG's reply to NNNOLHI's question here

(in the Ask the Adminstrators forum) about donating in the week before the fund drive began.

This is what EarlG's post said:

Here's what you can do: if you would like to donate now to get your donor status turned back on, go ahead and do that. Then send an email to [e-mail] to let him know you donated, and we will make sure you are credited with hearts to give out when the fund drive begins on Sunday.

So that's exactly what I did. I donated on Tuesday, Feb. 8, so I could get my star back and stop seeing the ads, and then immediately sent an email to Skinner, citing EarlG's post (with a link) and explaining that I wanted to make sure that my donation would count toward getting hearts to give away once the fund drive officially started.

But here it is just about 24 hours into the fund drive, and I still don't have any hearts to give away. :(

Is it just not going to happen? Was the offer only good for NNNOLHI? I'd just like to know one way or another.
