Should DU modify the 'alert' feature to include comments which say "Unrec"?
And otherwise any other comments designed not to explicitly address an OP but rather to undermine the thread in a hostile, diversionary manner? A positive post, such as "Rec!", certainly isn't a problem; "thumbs down" smilies, while negative, aren't in of themselves a problem.

This isn't a major problem on most of DU, but it certainly is over on General Discussion-Presidency, where some forum members perpetually hijack threads by attacking OP's personally, both directly and indirectly, accusing others' motivations, etc. but will refuse to address the main topic of a thread. Posting "unrec" is a shorthand method of purposefully destroying a thread.

1. Well, this issue is moot really
As you probably know we are racing to finish DU3 at the moment, so we aren't making any further upgrades or changes to DU2. And once we get to DU3, the unrec function will no longer exist.
