We know about this shutdown and the Clinton Era. In case you were wondering about the others, |
|
wiki has an article summarizing them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_shutdown_in_the_United_StatesSome things may surprise you, as they did me, like shutting down the Carter administration five times, when Democrats controlled both houses of Congress. And anti-choice played a role in more than one of those "Democrat on Democrat" shutdowns http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_shutdown_in_the_United_States

"The House and Senate opposed funding for the Contras and wanted the Federal Communications Commission to renew enforcement of the "Fairness Doctrine". They yielded on the "Fairness Doctrine" issue in exchange for non-lethal aid to the Contras."
And we didn't even get what we traded the Fairness Doctrine away for. We, the Democrats, were being played even then. The Criminal Reagan Administration went ahead and armed the Contras anyway. And the way they funded them, the ruthless methods they used to acquire the money. That was the beginning of the end of our democracy.
See, this illustrates that the righties do not believe elections have consequences. They only believe elections have consequences when they win. They also believe that "law and order" is for someone else.

2. Given how many times Democrats shut down the government under Carter, |
|
Democrats don't even believe that elections have consequences when Democrats win.
And don't get me started on law and order and Obama.
Look only forward? Immunity? Drone killings? NSA and Fourth Amendment? Freedom of the press?
