Thinking of you and wishing you well.
One good thing.
A minor thing perhaps but Biden will finally be able to be a doggy daddy to Commander and Major (after January, that is). Theyll be happy to have him back around.
Is the asshole going to get a sympathy bump in the polls?
I hope not but it wouldnt surprise me. If it happens, hopefully its temporary.
How long does a Covid infection generally last?
Ive got Covid (been vaxxed 6 times) and have had it bad for ten days with no end in sight. Was wondering how long this may continue.
My opinion on the debate, for what it's worth.
Biden didnt have a great night last night. Trump didnt shit himself on stage like we were hoping he would. But this is by no means a fatal blow. I doubt it will affect the polls in any meaningful way. The campaign will start in earnest soon and by August most voters will be starting to pay attention. Theres another debate coming up in September which will have more eyes on it that will hopefully go better for us.
The Biden campaign has a great team behind them and they are going to flood television and social media with great ads and well have thousands of volunteers calling people, going door-to-door and getting people excited for Biden.
So in closing, we all need to do what always works: donate our time, money and, especially, get out the vote!
Thank you for the hearts!
I love DU and the kindness of its members, theres nowhere better on the internet.
Why is Staten Island so Republican?
I dont live in New York but I was reading up on the boroughs and noticed that Staten Island was the only one of the five where a majority voted for Trump. Why is this the case?
Question about social security cost of living raises.
Why is the cola based on the amount of SS that each person gets? Wouldnt it make more sense for it to be a flat amount for everyone? The cost of food, gas, etc. isnt based on income, its the same for everyone. To me, it would make more sense for everyone to get, for example, a $200 raise. Whats wrong with that reasoning?
Edit: For instance my dads social security is $910/monthly. If he gets a 3.2% increase, thats a $29 increase, not near enough to make up for the increased costs this year.
Has anyone here seen the Trans-Siberian Orchestra?
I had never heard of them but my brother bought me a concert ticket to see them for my birthday. Anyone been to one of their concerts?
