Japan is known to not be an inclusive society. Japan does not welcome immigrants.

The US has a birth rate below replacement, but because of immigration has population numbers stable to support the benefits promised (and partially paid by) those who are aged and disabled.

Jan Psaki is a tough act to follow.

Anyone who came immediately after Jan would suffer by comparison. She was brilliant as Press Secretary.

A few years ago Indiana instituted a photo ID law and at the first election following,

a group of nuns didn't have driver's license, and had problems at the polls.

I never did hear how that was resolved.

If at all possible, have the current caregiver come to visit, spend a little time with Mom

in new facility.
It will be a comfort for Mom, and caregiver can ease the transition by letting new facility team know Mom's preferences, etc.
Caregiver can also clue you and family in to any problems, and there likely will be some.

I have a family member in long-term care and pay to have a previous caregiver come twice a week for a few hours to occupy her time with games and take her out to dr. appointments and change of scenery or a snack. (My family member is much younger.)

He had name recognition from his father, and he ran against a despicable Republican incumbent.

He's young, good-looking, and fairly non-confrontational.
He handled covid very well, with frequent public information pressers, and he has handled two huge natural disasters, one at each end of his lengthy state, very well.

Thank you, shrike3. It's a pity these reminders are necessary at times.
