Maybe it's time to talk secession.

How does one live in a country that's in the middle of a pandemic where a large segment of the population votes for a "leader" that proudly rejects basic public health measures? How do you overcome this ignorance? Someone please tell me.

How do you move forward on climate change, income inequality, education, healthcare, etc.? And other unknown massive events that may yet come? I go outside, and I see little children wearing masks. Parents stressed out about whether to send their kids to school or not.

We cannot go on like this. We are too divided as a people to function as a whole nation. We are a failed state.

Personally, I will do everything in my power to leave this country regardless of the outcome of this election, but that may not be possible given my age.

We need to have a serious discussion about secession. I have had it with rural voters being able to dictate to me who leads our government even though without my blue state tax dollars, they would starve to death. If they want Trump, McConnell, et al., then they should pay for them and suffer the consequences.

I live in NY. My governor and my mayor are keeping us safe from covid-19. They've had to overcome massive obstacles put in their way by this president in order to heal and protect NYers.

We may need to break free from the ignorance and bigotry and start our own blue state nation.

If you think that polling is bunk, then why are you wearing a mask?

Polling (really sampling) is a cornerstone of the scientific method. The same underlying mathematics that says wearing a mask lowers contagion from covid-19 is the same underlying mathematics that used to sample voter preferences for an upcoming election.

And just like there's a margin of error in the projections of health benefits from wearing a mask, there too is a margin of error in election polling.

EVERY polling outfit got it wrong. Every one of them. And not only did they get it wrong, but their margin of errors always favored Trump. EVERY time.

Now, you could rightly say that the methodolgies of the pollsters are deeply flawed, but we didn't see this in 2018 nor for any other previous election except for 2016. Something is not right with this vote.

Be careful when you dismiss polling because that same argument can be used against you when people question wearing a mask or social distancing. It's all the same math.

I'm not a conspiracy guy, but Trump and the Republicans may be cheating.

All night last night, whenever there was a heavy early vote in Biden's favor, miraculously, Trump's same day vote seemed to have always overcome that lead in states like, FLA, GA, NC, TX, and IA.

I don't have the numbers, but it seemed as though Trump was getting near 100% turnout in EVERY rural county out there. And winning them at such margins that successfully overcame the early vote.

Also, voting in these rural areas was seamless. No stories about voting irregularities. Machines not working. Polling places closed. Nothing. Some of these rural counties are getting nearly 100% turnout on election day and not one story about voting difficulties.

Finally, I know that pollsters are taking it in the chops today, but think about this. They've never been "off" like this before, and this is the 2nd time that this has happened. I have been following politics since forever. I've never seen a Charlie Cook, for example, be this wrong before. And the shy Trump voter theory is bullshit since Trump is overtaking Biden in deep red rural counties. What is there to be shy about?

Trump was consistently behind Biden for over a year and a half. Only the Republican leaning polls showed the race this close. When an outlier is more accurate than the consensus, something is wrong.

I think that Trump and the Republicans knowing the volume (and maybe the count) of the early vote is cheating by "creating" votes in rural counties by upping the election day turnout in those counties. For example, let's say that a county has 20,000 people and Trump will win that county 95-5, but only 11,000 people acutally show up on election day. If Trump can artificially boost that turnout to 19,000 giving him another 7,600 votes, no one is going to question it.

Repeat this over several counties and voila, you have overtaken the early vote.

--On Edit--
Trump was impeached over trying to involve Ukraine to help him with the election. So, it has been proven that he's a cheater.

Can. We. Wait. Until. We. Count. All. Of. The. Votes. Please.

Counting all of the votes this year will take some time this year due to the pandemic. Thank you.

Florida is killing me.

DU was started because of that Florida mess in 2000. Twenty years later and it still haunts us.

Just got back from voting in Manhattan, NYC

Got there 15 minutes before polling place was open. There was already a line nearly wrapping around the block. The entire time it took me to vote was 30 minutes after the polls were open. No one has ever seen anything like that before. Truly awe inspiring.

I know that NY is not a swing state, but so what. The people matter, and i can look the world in the eye and say that the people did not vote for Trump for president. And that's important.
