The "Parker warnings" to Trump..
MERCHAN: You have the right to be present during the trial and to assist your attorneys….do you understand?
TRUMP: “Yes.
"MERCHAN: If you disrupt the proceedings, you can be excluded from the courtroom and committed to jail based on your conduct and the trial will continue on in your absence…do you understand?
TRUMP: “I do.
”MERCHAN: If you do not show up there will be an arrest...do you understand?
TRUMP: "I do."
Wake up, America!
Can you not see how divided this country has become?
Can you not see the threat to our democracy?
Can you not see the rule of law vanishing before our eyes?
Are you truly unable to tell the truth from the lies?
Can you not see that we have gone off the track?
We must all agree that we should follow the laws of our Constitution.
We should all agree that we should do what is right for America's survival.
We should not put our Parties over our Country.
Because, if American democracy died, then the entire world would be better off?
We should be patriotic, in my opinion.
The times require it.
What the hell is going on with the US Supreme Court?
It's like they have all become Chris Sununu's?
They are trying to excuse and legitimize the insurrectionists who ransacked our Capitol on January 6th and threatened our elected Representatives and Senators.
Have they all fallen prey to the Trump spell?
They seem to be totally disregarding the laws and our Constitution and just making shit up??
Unless somebody can remove the pall that has enshrouded them, they are likely to do the unthinkable. They might even rule that not only does Donald Trump have "absolute immunity", but that he never did anything that would require immunity.
They have lost their friggin' minds. Too bad someone cannot remove their robes.
The flip-flop of Chris Sununu...
Republicans have rounded up all their wayward children and have put them on the right track. If they do not support Donald Trump, they can never expect to be supported by the Party ever again.
They are fighting to survive as a Party. Nothing else matters. If the country goes under, if the democracy becomes a autocracy, it doesn't matter. So long as they are in power, nothing else matters.
Somebody whispered in the ear of Chris Sununu. He had been a vocal opponent of Donald Trump up until very recently. Then he had his epiphany. On nationwide television, he said it didn't matter if Trump led an insurrection against this country. It didn't matter if he was convicted in a court of law. It didn't even matter if he was in jail. He was now supporting Donald Trump.
Why the abrupt turnaround?
The Republican politicians in Washington now see themselves at war with the "Democrat" Party and there are no rules.
They are a threat to all of America.
Being There ?
In the movie, "Being There", starring Peter Sellers. he was about to be mugged on the street and he pulled out his remote control for his television to see if he could change the channel.
Donald Trump, in the courtroom, reminds me of Chauncey Gardner in that scene. He would like to change the channel but his remote does not seem to work? It must be a bad dream. It cannot be part of his reality?
It's a bad trip for the guy that creates his own reality. It's always worked for him before, but for some reason, he seems to have lost his mojo...
The Irony in Numbers - April 15th Tax Day - Donald Trump in Court
The irony being that April 15th being only one day out of the 365 days in a year and the day that people are required to pay their taxes.
And the irony being that the biggest tax cheat in American history is to appear in court on April 15th.
All of his delay tactics in this case failed and he is being called to stand in front of a jury of his peers in a criminal trial.
His new strategy is to put the Justice system on trial. He did nothing. He is persecuted. By everyone. By local authorities. By State authorities. By Federal authorities. By Joe Biden and his Justice Dept.
The facts and the law do not matter. The only thing that matters is whether or not Donald Trump is able to persuade his cult and his followers whether or not he is being railroaded by the system.
In the end, he will only need to persuade one juror to disregard the facts and look at him as the "victim". Unfortunately, under our justice system, that is the best that we can do.
A Call To Action
Is that what it takes?
Because if women lose their rights, do not think that they will be the only ones that lose their rights.
If you have never given thought to politics, this is the time to do so. All women should unite in the common goal that we are all equal. And men should join them in unanimity. It is important that everyone vote for their own democracy this November.
These international fascist criminals must be defeated.
