SPACE FORCE is going to have its own SONGS too. They are working on it.

"We've got some steps to go through," he said. "General Raymond's team has a -- a massive, incredibly well thought out and planned implementation process for ... uniforms, pay, songs, that they need to go through to get a Space Force ... I don't know the timeline on it but we can probably get you guys an update on some Space Force-related issues in the near future."

Forecast for Richmond VA on Monday - s___storm.

Just checked the Richmond forecast for Monday- looks like a s___storm

I work downtown (for the next few weeks) and I went by the Capital on Friday to check it out. Lots of chain link fencing and barricades - not yet in place and filled with water. One entrance for this event - 9th and Grace. See map below. All the other foot entrances are blocked off including the visitors center that is underground on the south side of the Square. It's nice. Capital Square is 2 city blocks by 4 city blocks. As the map shows the capital and the Executive Mansion are in the square as well as several statutes. They have all the statues and monuments fenced off too. The numbers we are hearing have gone from 10,000 to 50,000 to (my wife heard) 80,000. It's going to be cramped.

We got an email Friday at work saying that we need to take our laptops home with us because if all goes wrong we may not be able to come to work on Tuesday. I take mine home everyday anyway.

They are blocking off everything from Main Street to 6th Street but not Broad or 14th (that is a serious uphill climb on 14th). VCU Health (MCV) is two blocks north of the Capital should there be injuries.

This guy Van Cleave, it seems to me, has lost control of this event as well as the Citizens Defense League in general. I've been listening to local talk radio and they are chomping at the bit for something to happen. The afternoon drive time guy is speaking at the rally. They've already whined about the sound being bad but that's the CDL's being cheap. They HATE the comparisons to Charlottesville but one caller actually pointed out that these kinds of events are rife for people to use them to establish themselves and cement a legacy. He was immediately cut off the air.

The CDL (more hard core than the NRA...they take donations too) and Gun Owners of America tried to get an injunction yesterday but a city court told them to pound sand and the state Supreme Court said the same. Of course Northam has the authority to do this. Elections have consequences. It's unlikely the SCOTUS will deal with it since Roberts is busy and given the arrests (yes radio listeners the Gov. DID have good intel on this) and the timeliness they are unlikely to go with something other than "better safe than sorry".

As curious as I am, I'm not going anywhere near there. I'll see if I can find a live stream at DGS or the Capital Police website. The Capital Police are the oldest police force in the country BTW. The Square and the streets that are closed are the Capital Police's jurisdiction. State Police and City of Richmond Police are heavily involved.

Baseball - Tony La Russa had a sign stealing camera in the 80's. (Palin supporter)

Former Cy Young Award winner Jack McDowell on Friday accused Hall of Fame manager Tony La Russa of having a camera-aided sign-stealing system installed when he was with the Chicago White Sox in the late 1980s.

McDowell, who made his major league debut for the White Sox in 1987 and pitched for 12 seasons in the majors, never played for La Russa, who was fired by the White Sox during the previous season. However, in an appearance on The Mac Attack on WFNZ in Charlotte, McDowell described a system that he said was put in place by La Russa.

"We had a system in the old Comiskey Park in the late 1980s," McDowell, who coaches at Queens University, told the radio station Friday. "The Gatorade sign out in center had a light; there was a toggle switch in the manager's office and [a] camera zoomed in on the catcher.

"I'm gonna whistle-blow this now because I'm getting tired of this crap. There was that -- Tony La Russa is the one who put it in. ... He's still in the game making half a million, you know? No one is going to go after that. It's just, this stuff is getting old where they target certain guys and let other people off the hook."

WaPo-IPSOS Poll. 8 out of 10 Black Americans think Trump is a racist

Black Americans deeply pessimistic about country under Trump, whom more than 8 in 10 describe as ‘a racist,’ Post-Ipsos poll finds

More than 8 in 10 black Americans say they believe Trump is a racist and that he has made racism a bigger problem in the country. Nine in 10 disapprove of his job performance overall.

The pessimism goes well beyond assessments of the president. A 65 percent majority of African Americans say it is a “bad time” to be a black person in America. That view is widely shared by clear majorities of black adults across income, generational and political lines. By contrast, 77 percent of black Americans say it is a “good time” to be a white person, with a wide majority saying white people don’t understand the discrimination faced by black Americans.

The Post-Ipsos survey was conducted Jan. 2-8, 2020, through Ipsos’s KnowledgePanel, a large online survey panel recruited through random sampling of U.S. households. Overall results have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points among the sample of 1,088 black adults overall, and four points among the sample of 900 registered voters.
