Matt Gaetz wants to spend more time with his family (no J6 rally)

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said this week that he is declining to attend a rally to support the Jan. 6 rioters because he has plans with his wife.

CNN reported first reported on Wednesday that Gaetz had been invited to the Sept. 18 "Justice for J6" rally but had not responded to the invitation.

“ Look, I have plans with my wife on Sept. 18th," he continued. "I won't be attending that particular function but I do think it's dangerous for Republicans to fall for the trap of allowing the mainstream media to basically cast any event, any gathering, any circumstance, any people as inherently evil and you have an obligation to distance yourself from it."

Steve Harvey (radio) Larry Elder "He's as racist as a Klansman"

Our maintenance shed has the radio playing and I just overheard this. I recognized the voice but wasn’t sure if it was a guest - nope it was Steve Harvey.

“This man is as racist as a Klansman”
(“WHOA” from the supporting crew on the show)
“He’s propped up by the rightwing white power system*”
“He said that slave owners should be paid reparations”
“He’s one of the most dangerous people out there”

That’s as close of quotes as I could remember.

The supporting crew said something like “Hat got into you?” Steve repeated how dangerous Elder is.

Female cohost reminded people to vote and offered a phone number for voting information.

OSHA Act of 1970 basis of authority is Article 1 Section 8 Commerce Clause

Title:
Basis of authority
https://www.osha.gov/laws-regs/regulations/standardnumber/1975/1975.2

The power of Congress to regulate employment conditions under the Williams-Steiger Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, is derived mainly from the Commerce Clause of the Constitution. (Sec. 2(b), Public Law 91-596; U.S. Constitution, Art. I, Sec. 8, Cl. 3; "United States v. Darby," 312 U.S. 100.) The reach of the Commerce Clause extends beyond Federal regulation of the channels and instrumentalities of interstate commerce so as to empower Congress to regulate conditions or activities which affect commerce even though the activity or condition may itself not be commerce and may be purely intrastate in character. ("Gibbons v. Ogden," 9 Wheat. 1, 195; "United States v. Darby," supra; "Wickard v. Filburn, 317 U.S. 111, 117; and "Perez v. United States," 91 S. Ct. 1357 (1971).)

First day back at school for the little one

High school. Junior year.
Everybody back. No more virtual. Masks all day except lunch. No water in class - have to step out in the hall to lower their mask and take a sip.

No mandated vaccines. No questions either from what I’m told. Our kid is fully vaxxed.

No bus - someone forgot to fill out the form. Mom is teleworking full time still so until the bus situation changes we are dropping off and picking up.

Preset assigned seats. No first day groupings of friends. This establishes contact tracing should someone become sick.

Lunch - skipped and staggered chairs. No one sits next to or across from anyone.

Won’t get a laptop until Monday. Everyone in the school system 6-12 has a laptop. No carry around text books. This is not new.

Good to be back and see friends.
