Welcome to DU, MaryMagdaline!

Oddly enough, I clicked onto this particular thread, returning to DU immediately after a Google search of what the Bible says about the Antichrist... (i.e.: trump, in my opinion).

Excellent!!!

The so-called “Christians” are anything but, in thought, word, and/or deed.

When they start preaching to their sheeple about Matthew 25: 35-45, and expounding on the Beatitudes, THEN I’ll believe they’re sincere followers of Christ. This so-called “prosperity gospel” they’ve embraced, with the idea that if you’re poor, that means you are being punished by or found worthless and sinful by God. Which is BEYOND bulkshit. As Scripture often tells us, He lives the poor and hung out with them almost exclusively.

Krugman nails it again.

October 15, 2017

Why would he? Hes a petty little grudge-holder.

Probably hates us ‘cause we voted for Hillary. CA went for Hillary over Obama in 2008, too.

Awwwww...

And what for Joy Reid?

How 'bout giving her a better time slot? Preferably during the week.

October 14, 2017

YES. For those who didn't vote for Hillary? Okay, then.

That means they swallowed whatever shit was served by all those nice friendly little bots. And they did exactly what Putin told you to do. And then the same crowd will crow like flocks of roosters about those who don't "properly" salute the flag at football games.

All one of her.

I do a really great clucking-squawking chicken imitation. I find I'm doing that a lot whenever I see some of these Congressional or Senate or gubernatorial CONS flapping around on TV making all kinds of flabby, anemic excuses about why they still feel they need to support trump.

Not a backbone in the bunch. And ol' Ileana is only speaking up because she isn't seeking reelection and she thinks she can afford to color outside the lines for once. They only find their spines when they think the coast is clear. If they were running for reelection they'd all have their presidential kneepads strapped on and then laminated in place.

Amen.

To those who insist that they were just so pissed off that they wanted to "burn it all down" so they went with the moron over an exponentially superior but sinfully slandered alternative, I'd ask - "did you ever stop to think how having to LIVE in the ashes, destruction, and utter chaos after you voted to 'burn it all down' would work out for ya?"

Seems to me, if we don't compel ourselves to reach the grok point on this (with apologies to Heinlein's "Stranger in a Strange Land" ), we're very likely to make the same or similar mistake in the future.

Welcome to DU, Philistein.

I don't think we can afford to forget about it, or drop it, and assume we can or should just move on. Reading through threads like this takes me directly to that old saying: "those who forget history are doomed to repeat it." A famous cliche is NOT a famous cliche for no reason.

This saying appears in many different forms, but the earliest version
is probably that of the poet and philosopher George Santayana: "Those
who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

"Notable Quotations from George Santayana
'Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.'
Life of Reason, Reason in Common Sense, Scribner's, 1905, page 284"

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
