And isn't it amazing how these clever folks figured out a way to prove both things in one sitting!

Neither fiscally responsible, NOR good for national security.

Welcome to DU, rladdi!

Good to have you with us! I really like this observation of yours: "the Republican terrorists who have high jacked this nation." (All I did was add an "s" to the word "terrorist".) I think this is IT. It's high time we call them what they ARE. They are domestic TERRORISTS. They have indeed hijacked our country, our government, our democracy. They're the ones who can't win on the issues so they have to like misrepresent, cheat, rig the game, artificially tilt the playing field. They are domestic terrorists. They love fear. They're steeped in it themselves and they want everybody else to be ignorant and fearful. BE AFRAID.

Welcome to DU, GuntherGebelWilliams!

Glad you're here! I am actually feeling rather gleeful about what's happened. These idiots stomp into Washington DC thinking all they have to do is talk about castrating hogs or something, and everything will be just fine, and look at the mess they've created. They've owned the joint (at least Capitol Hill) since early January. It's only the end of February, and look at what a mess they've made. They can't govern their way out of a paper bag.

What always strikes me as totally nuts is - WHAT IS THE REASONING behind the wish to send into governmental positions - people who hate the government. WHERE IS THE WISDOM in that? You aim a demolition derby in the direction of any building, and what else should we expect to happen?

Again, though, I put the fault squarely on the voters.
The voters who...
A) saw fit to send these idiot jackasses into power,
and the other voters who...
B) stayed home on Election Day because they were either too lazy, too apathetic, or pouting because they didn't get their perfect candidate in there, they only had a good candidate.

Mine too!

I'm as Machiavellian as the next guy!

I happen to LOVE the smell of republi-CONS self-immolating in the morning! (Or the afternoon. OR the evening. OR the overnights.)

The best part is the opening: "In a huge embarrassment for Republican leaders..."

The worse they're made to look, the more of a turn-off they'll be to the rational voting world. Their own idiot dingdong clown-car-loving followers - who the hell knows? And who the hell cares?

We can get SOOOOOOOOooooooooo much mileage out of this that can leave the CONS on their asses that hopefully they STAY locked out of the White House next year, AND we at least get the Senate back, too.

But we knew that already.

"Boehner really looks weak on this and he really blew it. He really should be embarrassed. He is not fit to be majority leader of the House. He can't control them."

Once a jerk, always a jerk.

Nicely put, Tommy.

I too believe in redemption and deathbed conversions. But not nearly as often as I should.

One would think we'd see most of that on the knuckle-dragger sites.

But, unfortunately, the relentless critics of our President are here, too.

I try not to generalize. However, uhnope, you put it rather succinctly:

"Some people just don't want any credit to go to Obama for anything."

Just imagine if it had been President romney in the White House while this was going on. What kind of result could we expect in THAT case, 'eh?

Guys, dear treasured cherished DU brothers and sisters - I humbly suggest we ALL try on this filter when discussing lots of different issues, especially as we draw nearer and nearer to primary and general election season.

"WHAT KIND OF RESULT COULD WE EXPECT IF THERE WAS A CON IN THERE, INSTEAD OF (Democratic fill-in-the-blank-here)?"

That he's a moron?

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
