calimary's JournalThe whole idea is to MAKE NOISE!!!!!
Rattle the cages of your Senators and Congressmembers and demand that they...
- look into this!
- push Garland to come up with something meaningful and/or significant. You've been at this for a year or so already? Anything???
- insist these bastards be PREVENTED from getting away with it - from trump on down. Demand it of anyone who'll listen.
- write a letter-to-the-editor of your local paper. Or whatever paper. But I've learned it might be easier to get printed in a local rag.
- if you have some sort of distinction in your home turf, offer to write an editorial.
- if there's an opportunity, how 'bout your local leaders/councilmembers/aldermen/county supervisors? Make noise! Don't let this die!
If noise is starting about whatever-topic-it-is, it's gonna start getting, and generating, attention. You WANT people talking about it. I'm old enough to remember Nancy Reagan warning soon-to-be-EX-chief of staff to her husband Ronnie, "people are talking."
Yeah?
Yeah. She knew it because she was busy dropping little hits and hints in strategic places and it started piling up against Regan's door. They soon were no longer on speaking terms, and he even hung up on her! His prestigious and powerful White House employment was doomed to be a thing of the past. If Nancy didn't like you, you eventually joined the walking dead.

It was palace intrigue on Pennsylvania Avenue during that regime. Nancy was the power behind the throne.
Take a number.
About time people start coming around!
IF thats whats happening.
And its just that one poll, at least that Ive seen. The public is fickle, and easily led astray.
Still as presidential as ever.
Behind this great man sit TWO great women!
... but how do you REALLY feel?
That's an insult to poo-flinging howler monkeys.
Definitely bookmarking!
I want to spend some time with this thread.
Lots of good stuff!
THIS.
This is how you make him irrelevant. The "look at me!" reference farther upthread, I think, is spot-on. He gets to be a star, the center of attention, the one everybody's always talking about. And I think he likes that. I think he CRAVES that - probably more attention than he's ever gotten before in his whole life.
The feigned "bipartisanship" of that seating choice is bullshit, nicely pointed out upthread, too, that we certainly didn't see any Republicans going over to sit with Democrats to demonstrate "bipartisanship," did we? That would ONLY have worked IF he'd made a deal with some Republican that they were both gonna demonstrate bipartisanship by sitting with the other team on the opposing side. That's the ONLY way it would have worked. Instead, it was a one-way gesture that I think fell flat. NOBODY got the point. The point I think a lot of people DID get was "fraternizing with the enemy now, dude?" Looked like a traitor to me. He's picked a side, and it's not mine.
That tells me all I need - or want - to know.
I felt like that (and did that) when the Republican governor from Iowa attempted
a "response."
"Meh, I need a cup of tea... Seeya."
