He is still on Truthout.org - so his writing and point of view can still be savored.

Maybe he felt he needed to step away. Many have. Several years he came out with this long piece listing the greatest hits of bush/cheney. It was an excellent reference piece. I actually printed it out and hung it up on my wall.

Awwww... I miss him!

A lot of great ones here. Got me through bush/cheney.

Thank you Skinner.

It must be nuts sometimes, keeping all of this straight. You may be the one who's really "herding cats"! It's been fun since 2001! At times this was about the only thing that kept me sane during bush/cheney.

WRONG. She didn't go because she was already booked elsewhere.

Big event long scheduled and long booked in advance: the Arkansas Democratic Party fundraising dinner. She WAS the First Lady of that state for quite some time before she became First Lady of the United States for those who don't remember. So it was quite understandably a key event for her to attend.

It's so ridiculous and unfair that some here insist on continuing to portray her as some sort of deliberate no-show because - Benghazi or Monica or last year's NRN or whatever other excuse is dreamed up. She did NOT stand anybody up. She did NOT skip it because she wanted to hide. But I suppose anyone can make any baloney accusation to support any rash, factually inaccurate "points."

Well? She's 100% correct! No. I take that back. 100,000% correct.

Screw you, huckabee! Or was that Fuckabee? (With apologies to bees everywhere.)

Neither am I.

Safe travels, Will. And to kentuck also.

Wishing you the best for you and your family.

Good luck to both you and kentuck.

Well, when you start approaching "old fart status" I guess maybe you gain a little perspective or

some such. I found myself thinking back to the eddies and currents in the historical flow that I was alive to see - everything from the British Invasion in the first half of the 60s with the Beatles (at one point, I found myself so sad that JFK didn't live to see the Beatles tear up the "Ed Sullivan Show" two months after the assassination) - all the way to Crosby Stills Nash & Young singing about the Kent State shootings, and Watergate, and Ford pardoning Nixon and all that - that I saw even with my eyes barely even half-open.

I think it's just one of those things that comes when you accumulate enough years to start noticing a longer rear view. It's a package deal - part of what you get as you age, along with deeper crows' feet, crepey necks, "arthritis-and-rheumatism" (as the aspirin commercials years ago used to refer to - see? I'm old enough to remember THOSE, too! Ipana toothpaste anyone?), vanishing hairlines, failing teeth, and crappy knees. I'm finally the "blonde" I always wished I was (for all the bigger fun we were always told they have) - except it's total WHITE hair now.

Fuck - sounds like the average Thursday afternoon rush-hour traffic.

That's supposed to be when and where the worst traffic in the country is: L.A. on a Thursday afternoon! Who knew?

Fabulous as usual!

Wouldn't be Sunday without our Sunday LOLcats - and dogs - and owls - and snails - and tigers - and baby elephants - and tapirs!

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
