Lock him up.

Reagan pretty much killed the cowboy appeal for me.

And then dubya pretty much buried it.

LOVE this Teddy Roosevelt quote.

Good cartoon.

The article speaks of an eight percent lay-off of workers

by Halliburton (dick cheney’s onetime company). Made me wonder how many of those who stand to lose their jobs voted for trump.

The messaging coming from that side is intended mainly to muddy the waters. Confuse. Sow doubt.

Leave people off-balance about whatever-it-is. And if there's nothing but a muddle (especially if it's MULTIPLE muddles every day, cascading furiously down upon each other like a waterfall from Hell)? That's the whole point. It's such an avalanche that those it's aimed at are eventually likely to throw up their hands, say various forms of "fuck it!", and give up. Or tune out. Or otherwise not stand up to it. You've heard the metaphor about how it's "like trying to drink out of a fire hose." The old Dan Rather maxim about how "if you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit" comes to mind, too.

When I was younger and studying karate, our sensei always stressed "Jab! Jab! Jab-Jab-Jab! Keep jabbing! Jab! Keep jabbing! Keep 'em busy! Keep 'em busy! Keep jabbing! Don't stop jabbing! Keep 'em busy!" MAN does that ever come back to me now, lo these 20-some-odd years later. You wear down the opponent that way. And then, more likely than not, the opponent gives up or tires more quickly and fails to keep up an effective defense. Keep 'em busy. Wear 'em out. I think that's what trump is trying to do. Lies, changes his mind sometimes within the same day, denies, delays, makes shit up, blames it on somebody else, stonewalls, makes excuses, tries to rewrite the incident or the quote, tries to distract, threatens to sue (or does file suit), claims he doesn't remember.

WHY are we putting up with this? Why the Hell?

IMPEACH. At least it leaves a permanent mark. It'll ALWAYS be there in the history books. For all time.

on edit - By the way, Welcome to DU, Kaiserguy!

Heilemann just confirmed it on MSNBC.

He's filling in on Nicolle Wallace's "Deadline White House" show, and just announced a few minutes ago that "NBC News has confirmed."

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
