Kickboxing came with it - something I only tolerated because I had to if I wanted to earn a black belt. was determined to earn a black belt.
It was interesting to observe in class. I always wondered about people’s motivations in there. Were they there for the ART in martial arts, or cuz they liked the idea of it being a safe place to be allowed to hit people? There were folks there whose favorite part was the sparring, not the forms, and they said so. It was the forms that appealed to me. Those FORMS! First time this longtime failure at gym class had ever actually felt athletic! On the other hand, I saw sparring as little more than a necessary evil.

Yeah sure he comes out later, after the fact, (when he thinks it’s safe) to denounce what happened. THAT’S not guts, bravery, or strong character.
He was just another sheep in the herd. He didn’t have what it took to be a true leader of courage and principle. Coming out later doesn’t make it, dude, or absolve you of complicity and/or blame.
I think we have the proverbial measure of the man. Just another fucking weasel. Weasels don’t impress me.
