(Ahem!)------Just in case some of you are mistaken

We are serious--- we are not fakin'
As you recently saw
We relied on the law
And eventually, it slew the Kraken!

What price Justice(s)?

Republicans, you ignored Trump's incompetence, his traitorous fawning over autocrats he envied and his vulgar and classless personality. For four long disgusting years, you told yourselves that, despite these "flaws", supporting Trump was "worth it" because be would keep your federal judge assembly line full of candidates whose primary qualifications were political purity and spaniel-like loyalty. The "plums" that you plucked were, of course, those ultimate prizes: three SCOTUS Justices. Have you ever calculated what those three Justices cost us?

Harvard economists calculate that, so far, this largely ignored pandemic has resulted in the loss of 16 TRILLION dollars from the national economy. Few reasonable people would disagree that Trump's response to the covid scourge was nearly nonexistent. If we are generous and only attribute half of the losses to the unnecessarily prolonged crisis, getting your three Justices cost 8 TRILLION dollars. That means just Kavanaugh cost us $2,666,666,666,666.

But, your three presumed sycophants on the nation's highest court cost us MUCH more than that.

As mentioned above, Trump did VERY little to mitigate the pandemic in America. Experts predicted that a totally unmitigated pandemic--- i.e., absolutely NOTHING done to counter the virus by anyone---would likely mean 2.2 million American deaths. While there was a range of possible death predictions for a mitigated pandemic, the average was about 170,000 deaths.

We are currently about to record 400,000 deaths under Trump's rule. Therefore, 400k actual deaths minus the 170k "should have been" deaths yields 230,000 deaths attributable to your psychopathic stooge in the White House. If my math is correct---and it is---each of your precious SCOTUS bobbleheads cost us 76,666 Grammys and Papaws, moms and dads, husbands, wives, children, friends--------------.

If your answer to "WAS IT WORTH IT?" is "yes", I am thankful you are not saying that to my face. I've decided not to say why.

I just heard Steve Bannon described as a "staunch conservative" on tv.

Is there now no difference at all between a "conservative" and a "fascist"?

If Bannon is a conservative the "left-shift"would make me a Trotskyite.

If six black people broke out windows of the Capitol and invaded it with firearms, tasers

and flex cuffs with the announced intent to kill the US Vice president and the House Speaker, we all know that those offenders who survived their arrests would have been sentenced to lengthy prison sentences.

Thousands of 99% white people did that on January 6th.

We should not tolerate either a "volume discount" or a "caucasian discount".

Lock "em ALL up!

Let's be careful about thoughtlessly accepting premises because they sound like what

"everybody knows".

There are a lot of folks recently who are starting their pleas for "unity" with familiar phrases like "there are two sides to every argument", "everyone's opinion deserves respect" and "we need to compromise on common ground".

In a word, "NO!"

There are "two sides" to an argument about whether the Earth is flat, but one of the sides is idiotic and no "compromise" is possible because there is absolutely no "common ground".

At this point, those still insisting that Trump won the last election is EITHER an idiot or intrinsically evil. I do not even want to be in the same zip code with these dead-enders, let alone "reach out" to them and "explore common ground".

The only thing I have in common with these people is American citizenship, and THAT has become damn embarrassing.

No effort to explain the January 5th Capitol "tours" is "the dog that didn't bark".

Sherlock Holmes, in "The Adventures of Silver Blaze", shrewdly deduced that a horse had been stolen by someone familiar to the household since the dog which was "on guard" did not bark at the thief. A "negative fact" was used to lead to prove a positive fact.

I have not heard or read ANY explanation, good or otherwise, of why several Republican Representatives conducted groups of unknown persons on a tour through the Capitol the day before a mob invaded the building and some of them appeared to know where certain offices were and how to access concealed passageways. These "tour guides" should be required to provide names and contact info for everyone in their tour group as a BEGINNING of the thorough investigation of them and their staff. If they will not consent to searches of their offices, phones and other digital devices, warrants should be sought.

Anyone with an innocent explanation would have certainly come forward with it by now.

The dogs haven't barked.

Get behind Joe and Kamala. Stay behind Joe and Kamala. By busting our asses, we have

elected people who are intelligent, have common sense and CARE about us. They have access to information we can't imagine and they are inheriting the Trump Clusterfuck.

Ignore the bullshit and the trollshit.

Let's support and defend these good people, come what may.

Republicans, I wonder if there are any in the GOP who are capable, as they contemplate how they will

vote in the looming impeachment trial, of asking that seldom asked question: "And then what?"

Acquit him again and you license him to--- again---savage ANYONE who opposes him in any way. He will try to funnel millions of dollars from "dark" sources into our system of politics and---again---encourage violence whenever and wherever he believes it will aid him.

You know this.

Will you survive?

Will your children and grandchildren be proud of such a vote?

When you are near the end of your days and perhaps weighing the good and bad your existence has wrought, on which side of the scale will you place a vote to---again---acquit Donald J. Trump?
