"INDICT GINNY!" nt

January 11, 2021

In my current fantasy, I am in a public place with lots of witnesses in the area and

Donald J. Trump assaults me!

Just sorta makes me tingle while wearing this silly grin!

Let's take our forks and dig down through the MAGA word-salad and get to the bottom

of all their dissatisfaction with Trump's certified "not even close" loss of the November election.

Let's pull aside all of the totally unsupported MERE ALLEGATIONS.

Let's toss out all of the debunked and silly bumper sticker slogans.

Let's burrow beneath the simplistic and transparently ridiculous "legal" verbiage in over 60 judicially rejected "election fraud actions".

At long last, there it is at the bottom of all this: a shrivelled kernel of "Trump said it was rigged!"

Can we now toss all this onto the compost heap of history?

"Bring it!"

It seems to me that we are now being called upon to deal with some of the same issues that we first confronted in the schoolyard: bullies who threatened us.

I can't speak for all of the grade school playgrounds in the '50s and '60s, but mine had its share of bullies. These were usually, but not always, older and larger kids who insisted, for example, that they did not have to take their turn on the slides like everyone else. They simply cut in at the front of the line and pushed, kicked or punched anyone who objected or tried to stop them. These kids all had one thing in common: they had no plan or stomach to stand and punch it out with someone who refused to yield. A bloody nose or a busted lip was usually all it took to send them walking away muttering excuses.

Some of these jerks are now threatening "serious consequences" if we insist on holding Republicans responsible, ---politically and criminally--- for the Trump Insurrection and Sedition in which they gleefully participated.

I believe it is time to set our feet, look them straight in the eye and calmly say "Bring it!"

Have we not, as a society, been guilty of serial appeasement in dealing with an

increasingly extreme right wing GOP? Have we not allowed one "little outrage" after another to pass without any more consequence than our clucks of dismay?

I will not attempt to list all of the missed opportunities to put a leash on the moral pygmies who now strut instead of slink, but they may have begun with Reagan's racist "southern strategy" and brought us, inevitably, to last Wednesday.

I believe I urged that our response to the refusal to even consider President Obama's SCOTUS nominee should have been to "shut it all down" i.e. to the extent possible, not allow any other action by the Senate until Garland got a vote. That was considered impossible, impractical, unnecessary and an over-reaction.

Our appeasement of Trump and his fellow fascists can be summarized by saying that, for over 4 years, we have given him respect he did not deserve and treated him AS THOUGH he was not a mentally unbalanced racist grifter. We all KNEW what he was, but avoided it as the embarrassing "elephant in the room" even as that elephsnt prepared to trample us.

They have snickered as they used our civility and tolerance to escape what should have been the consequences of one "little outrage" after another. And we assured ourselves that we were simply "being the adults in the room" and that "eventually" that would be rewarded.

"Eventually" has been in our rear view mirror since Wednesday.

Personally, my "making allowances" and "holding my tongue"---even in this deep red nest of Trumpies that I live in---is a thing of the past. I will no longer silently abide Teabaggery or Trumpism.

In 2019, Republicans refused to convict and remove Donald Trump, despite clear---some would say

"overwhelming"---evidence supporting the Articles of Impeachment received from the House.

In 2020, Republicans refused to accept Donald Trump's election defeat by over 7 million votes despite numerous recounts in multiple states and over 60 lawsuits which all confirmed the result.

So far, in 2021, the Republican Vice President and the Trump cabinet---without any known objection by Congressional Republicans--- fails to invoke the 25th Amendment to take power from a Donald Trump who is widely described by members of both parties as "deranged", "unhinged" and "unstable".

Next week, a single, simple and obviously justified Article of Impeachment will almost certainly be sent to the temporarily Republican-dominated US Senate and, again, the fate of the man who failed to win a majority of the popular votes both times he tried will be decided by the party which was placed in power by a clear MINORITY of American voters.

Can we agree that Big Changes are necessary even if they require pissing off those poor Trumpies whose feelings Cruz and company are so concerned about?

Lindsey's chickens have not just returned to the roost; they're biting him

on the ass! Trump supporters surrounded him at the airport when he deplaned in DC today screaming "TRAITOR!"

I am a somewhat educated and literate person, but damn!

I just can't seem to type the first letter of Tucker Carlson's name correctly! (This post took three tries!)

I think I have a case of "Liberal fingers"!
