Atticus's JournalI have not seen anything about whether or not the Republicans' plan to "grab" the over
one million pages of documents accumulated by the J6 Committee has or can be countered. I read that what they plan will even require the National Archives to return these papers to the new GOP-controlled House.
Does "ex post facto" have any application here?
Will any court get involved or will "separation of powers" shield them?
When some attorneys promise a "reduced charge" for their clients, they mean
2,000 volts instead of 2,500.
I leave it to readers to suggest who such clients might be.

"We tried everything you could imagine---and then some!", Ima noted. "It is therefore our scientific opinion that if these lumps of excrement cannot be promptly flushed away one should go around them until they eventually decompose. Virtually ANY contact with one will leave a person with a stench that cannot be concealed or eliminated.
Those who doubt the above should speak to Hope."
And it came to pass as the multitude had begun the long arduous climb out of the
abyss into which they had been cast after bowing before the Golden Escalator that some looked ahead and fell to their knees wailing loudly.
"OH EM GEE!" they cried after which some tore their garments and pulled their hairs out while others sat and stared numbly back into the void. And, when those behind them asked "WASSUP?", one who had seen the path ahead spake thusly: "The MAGA MINIONS who cast us into the Pit of Ignorance now reside in and rule over our House! The very same wild-eyed demons who demanded we abandon reason now sit smirking as they sharpen their scythes and prepare to cut down any who dare defy---HIM!"
But then, from the midst of those still climbing, came the quiet but clear words of one called by the name of "Joe": "Despair ye not! Even as I have promised----'I've got this!' "
And, the sighs of relief caused a great wind which swept out of the abyss and so bewildered the MINIONS that they cried "DUBYA TEE EFF?"and fled in all directions as HE tried in vain to persuade them to carry him once again.
And, those who climbed out stood again beneath the clear sky of reason and promised to to gather again two years hence to fill in the Pit of Ignorance and drive any remaining MINIONS into the desert of Cold Hard Truth.
And Joe pronounced it "Good!"
It is my hope that in this coming year we can resolve to be kinder to each other and to
try to keep in the forefront of our minds that we here are allies; we are on the same team. We may disagree about how to achieve our goals but, by and large, we share the same goals.
All ages, all colors, wherever we live, whoever we love, wealthy, poor, healthy or not, no diploma or advanced degrees---we are Democrats and progressives who are willing to tolerate each others differences and forgive each others' flaws and shortcomings.
