Atticus
Atticus's JournalUh---hey! You! You guys drivin' them smoky ol' trucks, flyin' them "Trump Train" flags and
wearin' them red MAGA CAPS---YOU PROMISED AND YOU SWORE AGAIN AND AGAIN that this coronavirus pandemic was a Democratic political hoax and that it would "disappear" on November 4th!
Well, my calendar says it is Friday the thirteenth of November and over 155,000 Americans tested positive TODAY! Each day in the past week has set a new record for the highest number of covid positives.
I don't have enough of these for each of you---Who wants to step up and accept the "Lyin' Sack O' Shit" award for the entire goup?
Billy Bubba---how 'bout you, boy?
So, Marjorie Taylor-Green, the Qanon queen the GOP just sent to Congress, tells fellow newbies at
orientation "My body, my choice!---masks are oppressive!" when told masks are required in the House.
Bless your heart, darlin'. I'm sure you support a woman's right to choose abortion if that's what she believes is right for HER body, right?
Right-------?
Marjorie-----?
"The price of liberty is eternal vigilance", i.e. "Don't celebrate too early". SEE:
Yes, we've won the White House, BUT----
---we have two Senate seats to win in Georgia;
---we have a mid-term election in two short years;
---Trump and others of his ilk are already making plans for 2024.
Those Americans at all the Trump rallies---the ones with the guns and the"Fuck Your Feelings!" shirts running buses off the highway? THEY will be campaigning for WHOEVER the Trump party blesses 24/7 between now and each of those future elections I mentioned.
Except for having a "wee dram" or two when Joe and Kamala are inaugurated, I am finished celebrating. We have sent a contribution to help our two in Georgia and will add some more each month. If you can spare $5 or $10 or whatever for Ossoff and Warnock, please send it now. They are bring outspent because the Deep Pockets on the Dark Side are flooding their two incompetents with millions.
We dare not relax. We have won a battle but the war continues---every damned day.
I think that if there are any who are considering becoming "faithless electors" and casting their
electoral vote for Trump even when Biden won their state, they should understand that, given the passionate positive response to Biden's landslide popular vote victory---how to say this?---their betrayal could prove to be very dangerous---to them.
Better have your get away planned and your hidey-hole well-stocked.
"He who rides a tiger dares not dismount". Before there was the Trump Train which just
derailed, there was the Trump Tiger.
Republicans who, during the 2016 campaign, correctly criticized him as the arrogant racist incompetent psychopathic man-baby that he is quickly swallowed every iota of self esteem they possessed as soon as he was placed in the White House by Putin. And, promised dramatic increases in their power and their bank accounts, they climbed onto the tiger.
They hung on as his documented lies exceeded 20,000.
They hung on as he continued to promise a border wall for which "Mexico will pay!"
They hung on when he called US soldiers "suckers" and "fools" and did NOTHING when informed that Russia was paying bounties for the killing of our soldiers in the Middle East.
Now that he has lost the November 3rd election and---against all decency, common sense and the actual vote counts---childishly refuses to concede his defeat, they still cling to the back of the snarling Trump Tiger. They have seen the handful of their fellows who abandoned the ride on the tiger get attacked and destroyed.
They fear not only for their own safety, but they are also terrified that if they lessen their fawning praise and unquestioning support, his retribution might so divide their party in Georgia that their two Senate seats from that state may be flipped in the January 5th run-off election.
One way or another, their ride is about to end.
Trump ain't got no "because".
It is pretty much an accepted custom that people who state opinions should also be able to share the reasons for their opinion.
"I believe Trump is a terrible liar BECAUSE reputable non-partisan investigators have verified that he has told over 20,000 lies these past four years."
"I believe my grandkids love ice cream BECAUSE they smile while they eat it."
"I believe the sun will set in the west this evening BECAUSE it has every evening of my life."
Trump and his intimidated sycophantic disciples say that they believe that votes for him were "legal", but votes for Biden were illegal and, therefore, Trump was just re-elected. That's their opinion. That's what they believe.
But, they ain't got no BECAUSE.
Can we just say this out loud and repeat it often for the benefit of the spineless Republicans?
"Donald Trump is a weak and ignorant coward."
Everyone with the intelligence of a potted plant knows the above is a fact. It is important to remember this when we are told how formidable the people he controls by threats are and how terrified we should be of the Barrs and Pompeos and Mulvaneys.
If they can be bullied by the invertebrate punk in the White House, they can certainly be contained and defeated by the strength and spine of determined decency.
Carry on.
Don't know what it is about, but Ken Dilanian just said "Shit! Fuck!" while apparently
reading something about national security.
NOT SURE ABOUT NAME---familiar face----not sure.
ON EDIT: name now correct---"Dilanian"
Regarding Mitch McConnell's statement that Trump "has the right" to flood the courts
with election challenges :
I "have the right" to file for a divorce from Sarah Palin;
I "have the right" to declare myself Grand Poobah of Middle Earth;
I "have the right" to handle poisonous snakes as proof of my religious faith;
but, the exercise of any of those "rights" would not be any more transparently ridiculous or less willfully ignorant than what Mitch just encouraged Trump to pursue.
My stupid exercise of the above "rights" would not endanger America. Trump's stupid exercise of the "right" Mitch defended does just that.
