I know that generalizations aren't always appropriate, but I think this does say something about
the "quality" of Trump cultists.
A Mr. Thompson---a January 6th Capitol invader from Ohio---was found guilty today by a jury of the six charges with which he'd been charged as a result of his participation in the terrorist insurrection. His "defense" at trial was that he'd gotten "sucked in" to the criminal assault on our Capitol because he'd been seeking the "respect and approval of President Trump."
Just take a few seconds to try to wrap your head around that---"the respect and approval of Donald Trump"-------------
How lame-brained and morally deficient does one have to be to care one iota whether the poster boy for lying, hypocrisy, arrogance and vulgarity "respects" or "approves" of you?
It is easy to understand why the Trump party has already bailed out of any 2024 presidential
debates. They have gotten their butts kicked in the popular vote totals in five of the last six elections so, of course, that MUST PROVE that the current NONPARTISAN debate commission is biased and unfair.
I don't know any more than anyone else about whether the '24 campaign will feature anything like the debates of past years but, it seems to me that the RNC does not want to risk exposing their party's cruelty and moral bankruptcy---period. They are laying the groundwork for demanding the right to veto any participants who may not toss scripted softballs to their candidate while smearing any Democrat.
Any panel of questioners that is not composed of the likes of Tucker Carlson, Steve Bannon and Stephen Miller will be rejected as biased and "rigged".
I think the existing nonpartisan commission should schedule debates as usual. If the Trumplican refuses to take part, designate an empty on-stage chair as theirs and, if audio is available demonstrating their position on an issue raised by a question, play that audio before their Democratic opponent gives their answer.
Cowards should not be accomodated.

Their "blank fillers" have changed from "Benghazi" to "her emails" to "Hunter's laptop" to "Biden is senile" and now, they've circled back to "Hunter's laptop".
If it won't fit on a bumper sticker, their base won't remember it long enough to repeat it.
So----Trump has endorsed Walker in the Georgia Senate primary, Oz in the Pennsylvania Senate
primary and Tshibaka in the Alaskan primary.

"Well, now", he began with a serious expression on his face, "this is an important issue. In my opinion, as long as that ol' pigskin is within an ounce or so of the NFL's recommended psi---that means 'pounds per square inch---not everyone knows that technical stuff---anyway, if it's close I say 'Let 'em play ball!' S'posed to be between 12.5 and 13.5 psi, but I think that ought to be just a suggestion, not a make or break rule."
The puzzled interviewer rephrased his question. "Sir," he said, "the question people want answered is 'Is Biden responsible for inflation?' "
"Not at all!" Herschel replied. "The NFL Commissioner is responsible for all that sorta stuff."
From there, the interview went down hill.
