---sigh---some of my "neighbors" argue on social media that 1.) George Floyd died of a
drug overdose, and, 2.) his death was justified because "he was trying to grab the cop's gun".
Unspoken---but understood---was the attitude " He was one of THOSE, so what's the big deal?"
Voluntary isolation has its advantages.
ASSUME that Mr. Floyd DID "resist arrest" at some point that just "happens" not to be
shown on any of the multiple videos. SO WHAT!?!
He sure as hell was not resisting when Chauvin killed him! He was handcuffed, on the ground, pressed against the rear tire of a cop car with two cops on top of him.
Was his pleading for his life "resisting"?
Were his repeated cries of "I can't breathe!" "resisting"?
Was his crying for his mother "resisting"?
This is BULLSHIT, people! Chauvin TAUNTED him: "Get up, bro!" while he held him down!
Chauvin is a racist Trump-humper and he treated Mr. Floyd in a manner that would have been outrageous cruelty if done to a dog! Arrest him now, damn it!
I don't know if it is arrogance, ignorance or a combination, but Trump and his thugs
are not even trying to conceal the fact that they are intentionally trying to foment a race war as a distraction from his total failure to deal with the pandemic.
WE are not each other's enemy. Trump is the enemy.
IF I was to state---which I am NOT doing, Agent Mike---that "the only good Donald Trump is a DEAD
Donald Trump", I would fully expect to be at least interviewed, if not taken for a ride in the back of a government vehicle, rather promptly. I would also, of course, expect to get tombstoned from DU.
Yet, there is virtually no consequence beyond the usual tsk-tsking and head shaking when Trump retweets some yahoo's declaration that " the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat". And, to the knee-jerk and utterly ridiculous response by the bleach-drinkers that "he didn't SAY it, he ONLY retweeted it", I ask "are you really that stupid or do you just hope everyone else is?"
Retweeting is Trump's version of a Limbaugh fan's "ditto". It's a lazy way to say "here's what I think". There is no "only" in front of "retweeted".
I'm sure this evening's news will be clogged by Republicans demanding air time to denounce Trump's cowardly retweeted threat---or---- mebbenot.
Trump "has no empathy" because empathy requires that you open your soul and expose your
weakness and your pain to the world. You have to voluntarily say "I am like you, therefore i can feel and share your pain."
Trump has never admitted any weakness and his consistent approach to dealing with others is "Yes, of course i am smarter, stronger, tougher---BETTER---than you!"
He "don't need no stinkin' empathy"!
Having accurately pegged Trump as an ignorant cowardly weakling, China has just taken control
of Hong Kong. The US., to its everlasting shame, meekly accepted this "new reality".
Does anyone think Taiwan will not be next?
Trump can take his executive order about Twitter, fold it in half and
use it as a suppository.
