Atticus
Atticus's Journal"Trump Signs Executive Actions On Covid Relief" This chyron is an example of the media's
subtle thoughtless bias in favor of Trump. It just appeared on MSNBC.
Most viewers, sadly, get their news from the headlines and the chyrons and this chyron seems to report that Trump actually DID something meaningful to protect American citizens from this deadly pandemic. Even when talking heads follow up with the accurate assessment that Trump did not do diddly shit, most "low information voters" have already been given the impression that this uncaring narcissist is "concerned" and making an effort to save lives.
Bull! "Trump Gives Campaign Speech, Signs Useless Papers" would be fair and accurate.
Two questions about Trump's Executive Order "ceremonies":
1.) Why does he always display his "signature"? Is he proud that he remembers his name or that he can use a pen like a "big boy"?
2.) Don't you agree his "signature" looks EXACTLY like the polygraph readout when he's asked "Have you ever groped your daughter?"
With a few exceptions, those who are charitably termed "journalists" are at least
partially responsible for Trump and, dammit, if you want to argue with that assertion, please take it somewhere else. I have neither the time nor the patience to list all of the reasons why that is transparently true, but will mention only that it took---what?---three years before the TV talking heads started calling Trump's proven lies "lies". But, this is, as they say, "water under the bridge". With the addled acquiescence of pundits and commentators and consultants, Donald J. Trump, the most spectacularly craven, corrupt, incompetent and mentally ill person in our nation's history is squatting in and befouling the White House.
My point? Not a whole lot has changed about the media.
This "fair and balanced", "neutral", "objective", "respectful" methodology has bled journalism dry of one of our democracy's essential ingredients: PASSION!
Does no one ever get outraged these days? Is there nothing Trump or his thugs could do or say that would piss off a newsreader who was a human being? Does anything disgust political commentators?
While it would ring true if a talking head was to call Trump a lying, arrogant, ignoramus---or worse and more "colorful"---I understand that will not happen. But, outrages---and there are too many to list---do not just become normal with repetition and the passage of time. It is STILL an inhumane outrage that the Trump regime kidnapped children from their parents, CAGED them and the LOST some of them! When is the last time you heard it publicized?
It is STILL a national embarrassment that many of our long-time allies find Trump an offensive laughingstock.
Trump is STILL so incurious and ignorant that there is simply no rational way to explain or justify his position or one iota of respect.
We know what Johnson and Nunes and Graham their accomplices are about. Why did we have to find and then connect the dots? Is this not what our "free press" is supposed to do?
Yes, we do have our Maddows and Coopers and Tappers and Cuomos. But, too many on the air are just filling their time with buzzwords and trite questions. This is not a game. There is very little about this regime that is not disgusting and outrageous. Don't report it with a resigned smile. Don't adopt that "Whatcha gonna do?" attitude. Don't even imply that "When the president does it, it's not against the law".
You don't have to tell me you're "pissed off" but, please, every now and then, show me that you are.
To: Donald Trump From: Everyone whose IQ is higher than a house plant's---
Just one question----the $400 per week extended unemployment payments you just "ordered"---are you personally funding that? You know, from the multi-billion dollar fortune you claim to have?
We are asking because, even though we know how incredibly ignorant you are, we assume that even you know that you have no authority to appropriate government funds. So, are you REALLY signing these checks and generously telling the treasury to "put it on your tab"?
A suggestion to raise funds for Democratic candidates: re-format all of Trump's
"Executive Orders" so they will print out in a continuous vertical stream just about four inches wide. Print them onto rolls of cheap tissue paper and market them as " The Only Thing They're Good For" toilet paper.
I'd take a six-pack.
Please consider forwarding this to anyone who just "probably" will vote for Biden.
Let's be realistic about your decision: you will either vote for Joe Biden or you will vote for Donald Trump
Obviously, if you cast your ballot and select Joe, you will have voted for Biden.
But, if you cast a ballot and select Donald, you'll have voted for Trump---AND, if you cast a ballot and select ANYONE but Joe---say, that Kanye fellow---you will have voted for Trump---AND, if you stay home on election day, you will have voted for Trump.
EVERY vote in this election is not just important, it is crucial. We must win this election so overwhelmingly that it will be impossible to steal it. It is your DUTY as an American citizen to vote for the AMERICAN candidate, Joe Biden. You know Donald Trump is not just a bad POTUS, he's a bad person.
Do not say you "may" vote. Do not say that you will "probably' vote. Say that, by God, come hell or high water you damn sure WILL vote---for Joe Biden and every other Democrat on your ballot. We MUST flush Trump and his enablers out of our government.
And, we need more than your good wishes; more than your agreement with us; more than your justified criticism of Trump.
WE NEED YOUR VOTE!
I wonder---is "Thighland" near "Nipple"? nt
Anyone even considering voting for Trump needs to ask themself:
"Am I really this stupid?"
Does anyone know who is funding the VERY frequent TV ads for the Newsmax "poll" ( stating
Trump and Biden are "neck and neck" ) and the Horowitz book "Blitz" about the media war against poor Donald?
Trump? He is what he is. nt
