The one basic fact that is blocking all efforts to defeat the Corona virus:

Donald Trump is mentally ill, morally deficient and totally incompetent to go out in public without a minder, let alone act as POTUS.

The nation knows this.

The world knows this.

Until he is removed from power, nothing will be done in this nation to contain the pandemic or develop a cure or treatment.

That's a fact.

Trolls should be stripped naked and staked atop anthills after their "most sensitive areas"

are smeared with jam.

The PTB in Buffalo and Philadelphia should call a press conference and speak directly to

the cops who publicly and en masse applauded the officers in those cities whose violence toward protesters was caught on video and resulted in criminal charges against those officers.

In substance, it should be clearly stated that: The conduct on the videos is totally against city and department policies and is quite possibly (presumed innocent) criminal. Every person now employed as a a police officer in this city who AGREES with this conduct and SUPPORTS those who engage in it needs to resign immediately from the force as we intend to respond very aggressively if you behave as the men now being prosecuted did. If your "union" will cooperate, we will provide retraining for any officer wanting to be a part of a new way of policing. If your "union" chooses to force us to litigate these issues, be aware that funding for the city's legal expenses will come from across the board cuts in all departments, INCLUDING the police.

In short, recommit to respectful peace keeping---"Protecting and Serving"---as your primary function or choose a new career.

Anyone still puzzled by the drastic drop in the number of Americans who count themselves

as members of a traditional conservative protestant religious denomination need only consider this: Mike Huckabee is an ordained Baptist minister.

Is it really difficult to understand why people do not want to be associated with groups that reward mean-spirited hypocrisy with leadership positions?

To Trump's 40%: have you selected your hidey-hole yet?

You know that Trump is going down and he's going down hard. The familiar Republican politicians who have for over three years stood in line to kiss his---ring---will soon be pretending that they never knew him. "Trump---WHO?"

So, where you gonna run to? Where do you think you will be able to exist where the "mark of Trump", the stain of your smirking complicity, will not cost you the respect of decent Americans for the rest of your life?

Here's a suggestion: return to the rock that you lived under before Trump temporarily made racism acceptable and ignorance cool. Burrow down as deep as you can, but know this: we have shovels.

Why The House Across The Street From The Fire Station Burned To The Ground

It would have been a simple matter to douse the fire if we had acted when we first saw and smelled smoke. But, the house that appeared to be the source of the smoke---OUR house---had stood just where it was for a very long time and it had never burned down before, even though it had been struck by lightning several times and been occupied by several careless smokers. So, when the first wisps of smoke were noticed---over by the escalator, some would later recall---we just did our best to ignore them and went on with our lives.

Soon, though, the smoke seemed to get thicker and thicker and, though some cried out in alarm, others shushed them by reminding them that, while other people's houses had been destroyed by flames, our house had never burned before and, besides, this was just smoke---no flames.

But, then, there were flames and the structure began to pop and crack as the orange flickers grew into walls of roaring fire. "Someone should call the fire department" was repeated over and over by all sorts of frightened occupants, but no one could quite decide who that "someone" should be. And, the flames moved relentlessly---predictably---from room to room.

Finally, several from the house ran over to the fire station across the street and shouted that help was needed immediately; our house was on fire but could still be saved if the firemen would just do their job. And, the firemen yawned and said "What fire?"

And, those from the house screamed "WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'WHAT FIRE?' T-H-A-T FIRE!" as they pointed to the clearly visible conflagration across the street.

And, the firemen looked directly at the burning house and said "That's just a little smoke. Why are you bothering us with fake news? Go away."

And, so, we watched from the sidewalk as our house burned to the ground while some continued to whine "Someone should have called the fire department!"

A quick Google search indicates that, so far, the IRS has distributed $218.4 billion in

stimulus payments.

Supposedly, 2.5 million jobs were "created" in the past month.

Unless my math is wrong, that comes ton $87,360 per job.

The payments end in July.

And, Trump just made a $10 million ad buy to brag about how he has "saved" us and how the economy will now "take off like a rocket ship".
