Atticus's JournalI was sorta counting my blessings this morning---I have food, clothing and a warm dry place to sleep
---and thinking of those not similarly situated. Something my mother used to say as she struggled to make ends meet came to mind: "The Lord must love poor people---he made so many of us!"
When I count my blessings, she is at the top of the list.
May we all begin to heal in 2022.
Most stores, including pharmacies, will be closed tomorrow on New Years Day, BUT---
---on January 2nd, I think we'd best be topping off gas tanks, getting enough prescription meds to last 6 weeks, and "stocking up" on essential supplies. Put plainly, I believe there is a real possibility---if not probability---that shelves may be empty and all sorts of businesses and services we take for granted will be closed because their staff is sick.
I think many, if not most, schools will close or function only remotely.
I think this will be like nothing we have ever experienced. Do what you can to TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF until at least February. Personally, I will not seek in-person medical care for anything less than a life-threatening situation.
I hope I am wrong and you are all making fun of me in a month, but that's how I see things.

Just took a drive past several big box stores, restaurants and supermarkets. There is
good news and bad news.
The good news: compared to several days ago, mask wearing has increased noticeably!
The bad news: mask wearing is UP to 15%---maybe.

Buy a burner phone and call any member of the Select Committee and tell them you are prepared to "spill your guts". "Arrangements" will be made quickly for you to safely do so and a path for you to escape will be offered.
Think of it: you could eventually die in your own bed at home instead of a cell bunk.

I have for years assumed that there MUST be a limit to how low the Trump party could go.
I have now decided that there simply is no bottom to that well.
Just for example, they have now shamelessly claimed that the violent coup attempt last January 1.) did not happen, 2.) was the work of "antifa", 3.) was staged by the FBI, 4.) was a "false flag operation" of the Democrats!
There is nothing so vile, so transparently false, so LOW that some Trumpie will not scream it through clenched teeth on live TV.
Does anyone know if the HIPAA privacy rules ACTUALLY mean no one can be
required to state or verify their vaccination status?
