The Year
by Ella Wheeler Wilcox
What can be said in New Year rhymes,
That's not been said a thousand times?
The new years come, the old years go,
We know we dream, we dream we know.
We rise up laughing with the light,
We lie down weeping with the night.
We hug the world until it stings,
We curse it then and sigh for wings.
We live, we love, we woo, we wed,
We wreathe our brides, we sheet our dead.
We laugh, we weep, we hope, we fear,
And that's the burden of the year.
A healthy, happy, and prosperous one to all.

Social Security Question: With his work hours seesawing wildly enough that
that we have little economic stability (my job is only for nine and a half months a year), my husband has decided to start collecting social Security even though he is not retiring. He will continue working for ten years more or as long as he is able to, which ever comes first.
Question: As he is continuing to work, he is continuing to contribute to Social Security via deductions from his paycheck. Will those continued deductions show up in his social security payments as the years go by, or will he see no benefit from those payments to the SS fund?

EPIC Theatres of St. Augustine evacuated in weapon scare; it was only a man with a sandwich
Posted: December 27, 2012 - 4:37pm
A report of a man tucking a shotgun under his coat Thursday afternoon at EPIC Theatres of St. Augustine turned out to be nothing more than a moviegoer taking a sandwich into the theater.
The short-lived scare was still enough to force St. Johns County Sheriffs deputies to temporarily evacuate the theater off State Road 207 as they searched for the suspect. Deputies responded because a customer called to report that a man in the theater parking lot had stuffed a shotgun into his coat before entering the building.
Cpl. Catherine Payne of the Sheriffs Office was on scene and said that deputies detained and questioned the man suspected of having a gun. But they quickly determined that he was just a guy with a sandwich, and he was let back into the theater with the rest of the other patrons.
Were definitely glad it ended without incident, Payne said.
