Seems like gerrymandering has helped them but hurt them

Helped them win lots of elections and hold a lot of seats in Congress but they don't represent the vast majority of the country and their policies don't command much public support either.

Welcome

For all of their touting of the free market they sure don't want to use it much. Why is that?

Another point that never seems to get brought up

What the hell is going to happen if a highly contagious plague hits the country and vast numbers of people are left without health insurance or the means to get treated? Now, even if you want to play the Republican game of "hate on the poor" and blame them for their own doom, what about the fact that if poor, uninsured people get infected and not treated, they will still exist long enough to infect more people, an outcome that could have been avoided if they could have gotten themselves somewhere to be quarantined, treated. And while we're talking about potential plagues, let's try to ignore the fact that Trump is wanting to cut the CDC budget.

Yup

They rant all day about the supposed "perversions" of the Queer community and the horrors of Trans people using gender appropriate bathrooms and using the military as a "social experiment", but Trump literally talking about feeling entitled to sexually assault women by grabbing them by their genitals ultimately didn't matter to them. Even people like Jason Chaffetz- whom denounced those comments and initially said that he was so appalled that he couldn't vote for Trump and look his daughter in the eyes- later changed his tune (and probably voted for Trump). And apparently there were still plenty of people out there whom felt that Hillary's private e-mail server was more of a moral atrocity than any of the numerous awful things Trump has done and said in his entire lifetime. Republicans will find PLENTY of ways to justify the contents of the pee tape if it is real and is ever released to the public.

Wow! What a flaming hypocrite!

Why hasn't she pulled herself up by her own bootstraps and had herself removed from her parents' insurance and bought a non-ACA plan out on the "free market" yet? Or hell, why isn't she just going without insurance and paying the penalty since she's young and healthy and there's no possible way anything that would happen that might cause her to go bankrupt w/o insurance? Why aren't Republican members of Congress forgoing their nicer taxpayer-funded insurance and buying a supposedly superior policy out on the non-ACA "free market"? Flaming hypocrites! All of them!

I (still) don't "love" him

He (and Graham) love to talk a good game but nearly always lets us down in the end. I love that McCain ultimately did the right thing (for once) and voted ACA repeal down at the last minute. It was too damned close, though, and he had it in him to reject the process that lead to last night's vote two days ago but didn't- even though his words stood in direct contradiction to his. The only people whom *really* deserve our gratitude are Collins, Murkowski, and every.single.Democrat in the House and Senate, as well as everybody whom consistently fought and voted against this bill or the process (or both).

This action will weaken our military

He has effectively summarily fired a few thousand troops. And for what? Of course, Trump loves to fire ppl. He's gutted our federal government too.

July 26, 2017

Need anybody remind him of what they did to Merrick Garland

and the "regular order" of Presidential SCOTUS nominees- regardless of the party of the President nominating them- getting a hearing and vote in the Senate?

July 25, 2017

How exactly does he propose to take politics out of........politics?

And why does he seem to think that Democrats are the ones "too focused" drama and gamesmanship? Gah. Does he not know what Democrats stand for and/or what the Democrats have done whenever they've been in power? Does he even remember about the ACA that Democrats passed- at a horrific political price- back in 2010? Does he remember how President Obama helped stabilize a deteriorating economy and presided over a fairly peaceful and prosperous 8 years for everybody in our country? Was it as good as it could have been? Maybe not but he, like Clinton before him, left the place in a MUCH better place than where he found it. Is he factoring in Republican obstructionism? I hate Democratic naysayers whom seem to completely ignore all of the evidence in front of their faces that the Democratic Party is doing it's best to help people when they have the power to do so, but are too often undercut by the Republicans and their constant legal and legislative maneuvering. What the hell does he suggest Democrats do to get their message out? Hit voters over the head by a 2 X 4 to get them to pay attention to them?

Lemme get this straight

Nobody knows what they're being asked to vote for, "Repeal & Delay" is a flaming disaster according to CBO, and the Senate Parliamentarian has ruled some pretty big things in BCRA as being out of order in terms of Reconciliation- and it's being reported to have "momentum"
