hedgehog
hedgehog's JournalI'll say one thing about the discussions over whether the dress is blue and black
or white and gold; they are certainly more inclusive than the more traditional "Did you see the game Sunday?"
About all the early polling - some of the candidates are well known,
some are just introducing themselves. I suspect that a lot of the polls taken right now are measuring name recognition more than anything else.
John Kennedy used polls to determine what he needed to explain about himself and/or his policies. The media uses polls today to reduce politics to a horse race, even to the point of matching this horse to that horse to see who the winner is.
I think the Republicans are in big trouble -
the money men have annointed JEB Bush as their candidate. The problem is, all kinds of little issues like his wife attempting to smuggle $19,000 worth of jewelry into the country are starting to leak out.

If JEB has already cashed all those donation checks, it's too late to back another horse.
I want a proper pity party -
here it is Lent, all the churches are sponsoring Friday night fish fries, and I'm off fried foods temporarily for health reasons! Who gives up fried fish on Fridays for Lent!!!!
Jeb Bush used to be referred to as "handsome".
Now, that was in his younger years, but did it ever make sense to anyone, or am I judging from my ethnic background's standards?
I mean, he won't scare the horses, but handsome?
I don't really care that Scott Walker didn't finish college -
what I care about is that he doesn't seem to have learned a thing while he was there, and he seems hell-bound to destroy affordable quality education at state public colleges.
Soooooo, it looks like I'm headed for gallbladder surgery. I figure it's going to take at least a
month, maybe more to jump through all the hoops. Does anyone have any advice for handling the pain until then?
The snow warnings you haven't heard yet:
I live in an area where the current Boston-type snow levels happen on a fairly regular basis. There are some hazards of deep snow that I haven't heard mentioned:
1. Children love to dig into the snow and make a snow cave. This can be bad news if the cave collapses. The same goes for tunnels.
2. It's easy to fall head first into a snow bank and get stuck. This can be very serious if the fallee can't breathe.
3. Kids love to climb up on top of mounds of snow and/or go sledding down them. This can be a hazard should the kid end up in the street in front of a car.
Just how is Ashton Kutcher qualified to be the new Secretary of Defense?
Oh.
Never mind.
How many other Cosbys are out there?
By all accounts, Mr. Cosby had no difficulty in obtaining rape drugs. I doubt that he was the only one to use them.
