Does Ronald Reagan make Santorum want to throw up too? - But I really wonder if Santorum is prepared to level the same accusation against Ronald Reagan:We in the United States, above all, must remember that lesson, for we were founded as a nation of openness to people of all beliefs. And so we must remain. Our very unity has been strengthened by our pluralism. We establish no religion in this country, we command no worship, we mandate no belief, nor will we ever. Church and state are, and must remain, separate.
Hear the retching? Thats Santorum. Just wait till he finds about Vatican II.
Rick Santorums tiny mental Jesus is telling him lies - Kennedy did not say that people of faith have no role in the public square, nor did he say that faith is not allowed in the public square. Not even close. Kennedy said that all people and churches should be created equal. Thats it. Its a simple concept, reallyone that Republicans, the self-styled masters of the Constitution, should have grasped by now. Frankly, I cant even begin to understand what Santorums Brain was thinking when it interpreted Kennedys speech as some sort of attack on faith and the First Amendment. It is nutbaggery most foul, and I simply do not get it.

Brooks and Coulson 'warned about widespread phone hacking in 2006'
Police source 'told then Sun editor of around 100 victims'
Records 'suggested NI had paid Glenn Mulcaire over £1m'
Email submitted to Leveson inquiry reveals Coulson briefing
....................................
The internal News International (NI) email shows an unnamed police source told Brooks there were between 100 and 110 "victims" while the News of the World was under criminal investigation for hacking phones in the royal household. She was also told there were records suggesting NI had paid over £1m to Glenn Mulcaire, the private investigator employed to carry out the hacking.
The email from NI lawyer Tom Crone, to the then News of the World editor, Andy Coulson, sets out what the police then knew and what steps they were planning to take in their first phone-hacking investigation. It was based on information that Crone says had been passed to him by Rebekah Brooks, then Wade, who was at time the editor of the Sun. She had also been News of the World editor before Coulson.
"They are confident they have Clive and [Mulcaire] bang to rights on the palace interception," says Crone's email to Coulson.
The email told Coulson that police had recovered payment records from News International to Mulcaire: "The only payment records they found were from News International the News of the World retainer and other invoices. They said that over the period they looked at (going way back) there seemed to be over £1m of payments."

Jerry Brown to reporter: 'Are you a Moonie, by any chance?'
Picket suggested things changed in California when Republican Gov. Ronald Reagan came into office "later on," after Brown's first two terms as governor, from 1975 to 1983.
"No, Reagan came before me," Brown said. "Reagan came after my father, and then I came after Reagan."
When Picket asked again about bankruptcy, Duran said, "You're lying."
Brown asked her, "Are you a Moonie, by any chance?"

Are We Ready? --- SINGLE PAYER Is Coming Whether We Like It Or Not!
Single-Payer Health Care Is Coming To America-Are We Ready?
The supremely-thoughtful Rick Ungar chimes in on Moneybag Bertolini's big announcement with a reminder that single payer is coming whether we like it or not:
While I have long argued that the for-profit health insurance model no longer works, and that some form of a single-payer system iswhether you like it or not inevitable, the simple fact is that we are no more ready to make single-payer a success in America then we are capable of sustaining the existing for-profit model.
.....................
If you are a single-payer advocateand it is no secret that I fall within this categoryyou are likely pumping your fist in the air at this news. After all, when the CEO of one of the nations largest health care insurers waves the white flag, its got to be a good thing for those who wish to usher in the era of universal coverage.
Whichever side draws your support, if the war over the Affordable Care Act has taught us anything it is that there is likely to be more than enough legislators to block an effort to extend Medicare to all Americans, or some other variation of a single-payer system, for the foreseeable future. However, if the for-profit insurance companies find it no longer worth their while to stay in the business, which is my own expectation and a notion that appears to be shared by Mr. Bertolli of Aetna, a single-payer system may be thrust upon our politicians when government is the only entity large enough to take on the financial responsibility of our health care system.
However it happens, and I very much believe it will, we had better be preparedand we are not.

ROMNEY: 'Not An Ardent Fan-But I have some friends who are NASCAR team OWNERS."
Asked if taking time to appear at Daytona was an indication of his level of confidence going into Tuesday's primary in Michigan, Romney said it wasn't.
"No, it's a sign of a guy who loves cars," Romney said. "And this has always been a place where American cars have shined. And a long history from Daytona being connected with Detroit, with Detroit cars, and with the spirit of America."
Romney was at Daytona last year and said he also has been to the track in New Hampshire. Does he follow the sport?
"Not as closely as some of the most ardent fans," he said. "But I have some friends who are NASCAR team owners."

Mr. Fish Presents Fox "News"
Conservative columnist: ‘Romney is a dork’
Conservative columnist: Romney is a dork
While discussing Mitt Romneys admission of owning multiple cars, Washington Post conservative columnist Kathleen Parker labeled the GOP presidential candidate a dork Sunday morning.
You know Mitt Romney has a very hard time connecting, I think weve accepted that, Parker said on Meet The Press. And I think we can also unanimously conclude that Mitt Romney, for all of his good qualities, is a dork.
So we have to think of him, or Republicans have to think of him, independents have to think of him, as a doctor, okay. Hes a doctor who doesnt have a bedside manor. Ultimately, do you really care? Voters are going to have to put aside the fact that hes not connecting and then just decide whether hes got what it takes to fix the economy.

Thomas Jefferson's Reply to Rick Santorum
byMets102
To messers. Nehemiah Dodge, Ephraim Robbins, & Stephen S. Nelson, a committee of the Danbury Baptist association in the state of Connecticut.
Gentlemen
The affectionate sentiments of esteem and approbation which you are so good as to express towards me, on behalf of the Danbury Baptist association, give me the highest satisfaction. my duties dictate a faithful and zealous pursuit of the interests of my constituents, & in proportion as they are persuaded of my fidelity to those duties, the discharge of them becomes more and more pleasing.
Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties.
I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection & blessing of the common father and creator of man, and tender you for yourselves & your religious association, assurances of my high respect & esteem.
Th Jefferson
Jan. 1. 1802.
