an automatic exclusion in my book. They would be shouting to the American Electorate that they are racist and misogynistic.
The only reason they called for Biden to step down was to massage their own ego to run for president.
They are as narsassictic as Tr**p.
They shouldn't be called Dems.
We Just Wanted A Nice Restaurant Experience And A Good Meal......
I was well prepared for a good experience. We chose a restaurant that we were very familiar with - that moved to a new location - now completely remodeled - yet with a familiar menu. This was a Greek owned restaurant.
I have to interject here - this is the first time we went back to this restaurant - since the pandemic. Much had changed.
As we walked into the restaurant - on the back wall was a giant TV screen with the Fox News on and showing Tr**p and Vance at a rally.
That completely turned me off - as I didn't need to go to a restaurant to have a nice meal and have it spoiled by having to look at Tr**p's mug while I ate.
As we were seated by the owner - I told him - don't seat me at a table where I have to look at that TV. He half-heartedly obliged and sat us at a table where our backs would be to the TV.
It wasn't until I sat down that I realized that they had these giant TV's on all four walls of the restaurant - and no matter where I looked - I had to be staring at this convicted traitorous felon.
Before we even ordered - my meal was spoiled.
I can't for the life of me understand why - in this political environment that we are in - that the TV's would be set to watch the Fox News/Tr**p oriented station.
I guess we could have walked out of the restaurant - but we didn't = as we were hungry and it was getting well past dinner time - we stayed and ordered.
I rushed down my meal risking indigestion - neither one of us finished our meal - so we had leftovers to take home.
When it came to paying the bill - as I left a tip for our waitress (she was good) - I noticed that there was a line on the bill entitled 'surcharge' with a dollar amount on it.
I asked what the surcharge was for and was told that because I used my credit card to pay - and the restaurant is charged 7% by the credit card company - I had to pay that surcharge.
I said - allowing patrons to use their credit card - was a cost of doing business for the restaurant - as a convenience for their customers.
As an aside - since Covid I don't carry around much cash and use my credit cards almost exclusively,
I mentioned = the TV/Fox situation and on top of it them charging me extra for eating at their restaurant - and told them I'm never coming back again. They have lost a customer.
On top of it - the prices on the menu increased by at least 40%.
Can't credit card companies outlaw establishments from tacking on a surcharge for use of their credit card? If they don't - they should.
I'm wondering if others here have faced similar situations - and how have you or how do you handle them.
Now I realize that restaurants where hit hard by the pandemic.
However - this restaurant - a typical greek restaurant - had a menu that rivals - the Cheesecake Factory - almost 10 pages long with many specials.
Having to carry an inventory of food to sustain such a menu - is a cost. I think they should have worked on their menu - to streamline it more - so that they didn't have to carry such a large inventory of food.
That is one way that they could save - probably a lot of money - and still serve their customers better - instead of trying to defray their costs on the back of their customers.
As you can see - this experience really got to me.
From now on - I know that I can make a meal at the house that would be as good or maybe even better - and in the future I will think twice about trying to treat ourselves with having someone else cook for us and overcharge us and create a unfavorable eating experience.
I Just Heard Joy Saying That She Will Be Breaking Down Project 2025 One Topic At A Time Between......
now and the election.
I'm hoping that she also takes the next step and not only list the topic - but I'm hoping that she also explains as to how that particular topic will effect the voter personally.
Example: Destroying Social Security and Medicare - she needs to explain the impact that would have on the Seniors
If she includes that impact for every major Project 2025 point - I believe that when people know how it will impact on their lives - we got ourselves a vote.
There's enough in Project 2025 that - if carried out - will impact virtually every American. We need Americans realize how their lives will change if Tr**p and the Repugs are able to implement Project 2025.
I gave Seniors for the example. But you can list Women - with abortion and contraception and IVF; Veterans; Parents with Kids; Immigration; LGBTQ - etc, etc, etc.
Tr**p Was Calling For His Secret Service Detail To Get His Shoes......
I guess he was anticipating that at the RNC when he gave his acceptance speech - that he'd be shooting himself in the foot.
If It's Big Money Donors That Are Extorting House & Senate Dems - Withholding Their Donations......
unless the Dem - calls for Biden to step down - then we the people need to do something to help them out.
Could we mount a donation campaign for these Dems - to replace the money that these big money donors are holding back?
If we could come up with a way to replace - dollar for dollar - that money that these House & Senate Dems might be losing - could we keep and get these House & Senate Dems to back down and again support the Biden/Harris ticket?
It's Not Like The Dems Didn't Know That Biden Would Be 81y/o In Nov 2024......
They knew this going into the primaries. If Biden's age is a factor - why didn't they put up challenges to Biden during the primary season?
Why is all this surfacing now? Did his bad debate performance bring all this to the surface OR was this age issue ruminating in the background all along?
All this Dem disarray could have been avoided if they would have just let a Dem Primary play out and address this age issue back then. It could have all been handled in the background without airing all this dirty laundry now.
At least we would have some viable alternatives as back-up to Joe now.
All this disarray is just letting the Repugs get the upper edge now -- because they have unified behind Tr**p (a convicted and treasonous felon) and because of all this commotion - they have fragmented the Dem Party.
This is a watershed election - that could be our last election - because we let Tr**p and the Repugs get the better of us.
We had/have one goal - and that is to prevent Tr**p from ever regaining the WH.
The longer this whole issue plays out - we're just creating the opportunity for the Repug Party (the one that always looks like they are on the brink of extinction) gain the upper hand.
Will Tr**p Stick To The Script Tonight Or Will He........
do one of his incoherent ramblings and repeat all the talking points that he mouths at all of his rallies and Fox News interviews with Hannity?
A Democrat In Congress Should Introduce A Bill To Ban Assault Rifles And Entitled It......
with a name that includes D.J. Tr**p's name in the title. The rest of the House Democrats should co-sponsor the bill.
We are introducing this bill in the spirit of preventing future occurrences like that which attempted to assassinate our 45th president with an assault rifle. We are calling it the D.J. Trump Rejection Of Political Violence Assault Rifle Ban Bill.
It would be interesting to see if Tr**p himself would support such a bill because not only was he the victim in the attempt but this bill includes his name in the title and you know how vain he is.
It would also be interesting to see if the Repugs in Congress would support it because its subject is the leader of their Party and it includes Tr**p's name in the title.
I think it would look bad for the Repugs if they didn't get behind such a bill and support its passing. Especially because the Dems introduced this bill in solidarity with Tr**p and the tragedy that might have occurred if the attempt turned out to be successful.
Will Tr**p Be Holding Any Outside Rallies Between Now And November?......
Is he going to continue with these outdoor rallies or is he going to bring them inside?
My understanding is the inside rallies cost more money to pull off. Many times those venues don't get paid by his campaign. That's why he does the outside rallies.
It's going to be interesting if we notice a change in how Tr**p will continue to campaign thru Nov.
