(CNN)After revelers celebrated the Fourth of July at a Michigan lake, some started testing positive for Covid-19 -- prompting health officials to warn other party-goers that they might have been infected, too.

The Health Department of Northwest Michigan said other health officials in the state reported that several people have tested positive "after attending the festivities at the Torch Lake sandbar over the Fourth of July holiday," the department said Friday.

Those who tested positive weren't able to identify everyone they had contact with, "and therefore we want to make the public aware that those who attended could be at risk for exposure, and additional cases could be seen in the coming days," the health department said.

The Beast is burning through Franklin County 10,000 dignosed cases and at least 100,00 according to the CDC's numbers. My vet's office 1 mile north of here just had to close because 2 of the vets and 2 or 3 of the techs had the virus.

As per MSNBC last night we could very well be @ 1,000,000 new cases per day very soon.

Dr. Fauci said that 100,000 new cases per day is a very real possibility and then another
expert* said that according to the CDC the real # is more than likely 10 times that amount
so we could be looking @ 1,000,000 new cases of C-19 per day.

1) Those of us that have the virus or had the disease.

2) Those of us that will get the virus.


The surge is occurring because America reopened before COVID-19 was contained.

Even Italy–not always known for the effectiveness of its leaders or the pliability of its citizens–has contained the virus and is reopening without a resurgence.

South Dakota governor, exposed to virus, joined Trump on jet

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem accompanied President Donald Trump to Washington aboard Air Force One on Friday night despite having had close contact with Trump’s son’s girlfriend, who had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Trump has been in a position all along to encounter a virus that spreads from people who don’t feel sick, such as Noem, who had interacted closely at a campaign fundraiser with Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, who turned out to be sick.

Noem's spokesperson, Maggie Seidel, says the Republican governor didn't wear a mask on the plane and chatted with the president as the flight returned to Washington, D.C.

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar warned on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday that the "window is closing" for the U.S. to take action and get the coronavirus under control, calling the current state of the outbreak a "very, very serious situation."

Why it matters: Azar's rhetoric stands in stark contrast to that of President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, who claimed at a press briefing on Friday that the U.S. has "flattened the curve" and that much of the surge in new cases is attributable to an increase in testing.

Throughout the pandemic, health officials on the White House coronavirus task force have sounded the alarm about the seriousness of the crisis while political figures like Trump have sought to paint a rosier picture.

The reality is that the U.S. today is getting closer to the worst-case scenario envisioned in the spring — a nationwide crisis, made worse by a vacuum of political leadership, threatening to overwhelm hospitals and spread out of control.

It is not like we are in the middle of viral pandemic that has sickened 3 million Americans and we are closing in on 150,000 deaths from the disease this week and so what does Donny do?
