British husband and wife both sustain injuries in an effort to avoid stepping in dog poop

Couple injured avoiding dog mess call for action

A retired couple from Spilsby has called for urgent action to be taken against the town’s irresponsible dog owners after suffering painful injuries, trying to avoid mess on the pavement.

Michael and Anna Webster each suffered bruises and broken bones after falling in an attempt to dodge the dog foul while walking along Old School Mews in the town last month.

“My wife pointed towards some you know what on the footpath, I turned to look where she was pointing, missed the step, tripped and fell on her, she broke her arm, I fractured my wrist and landed on my ribs,” said Michael.

“It was partially my fault that I had fallen over and it was very unfortunate that I landed on my wife but my attention had been diverted because of the dog mess.”

Someone apparently stole a Breaking Bad script from Bryan Cranston

Police: 'Breaking Bad' script stolen from Bryan Cranston

Man arrested but script still missing

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —Actor Bryan Cranston plays a bad guy on TV, but police say the "Breaking Bad" star became a crime victim in real life in December when a man broke into his car at the Sandia Crest and stole an item that could compromise the show's final season.

On the show, Cranston plays the lead role of high-school chemistry teacher Walter White, who joins the sordid underground world of meth dealing.

Action 7 reporter Lauren Zakalik reported Monday from outside the courtroom where Xavier McAfee, 29, faced charges of stealing a script from one of the most heavily guarded and most-anticipated story lines of the television season. McAfee is accused of breaking into Cranston's Audi and taking among other things, a script to the popular and secretive show

From "The Simpsons Already Did It" files: NYC restaurants hit by grease thefts

HUH? Thieves stealing used cooking grease to turn into quick cash

Enterprising crooks are striking oil.

The theft of used cooking grease from city restaurants has risen in recent years thanks to the demand for “yellow grease” — a valuable ingredient in biodiesel, say eatery owners and licensed oil collectors.

They suspect an organized element creating a black market while others are calling it industrial cooking oil espionage.

And now, some business owners are going after the greasy bandits by hiring private investigators and beefing up security.

Nicknamed “vultures” or “gypsies,” grease thieves are often armed with a hose, a vacuum or souped-up vacuum or lawnmower engine and drain dry massive metal drums loaded with the rancid cooking sludge.

Shamwow guy makes movie "InAPPropriate Comedy", 2nd biggest box office flop of all time

The first is last year's toddler TV flick "The Oogieloves In The Big Balloon Adventure" (Razzie nominated for Worst Picture), which grossed an estimated $421 per theater.

This one:

Box office disaster: Lindsay Lohan film 'InAPPropriate Comedy,' directed by the ShamWow guy, earns $625 per theater

A film that you probably weren’t aware even existed, starring Lindsay Lohan, Michelle Rodriguez, and Adrien Brody (the man has an Oscar, remember?) and directed by Vince Offer — a.k.a. the ShamWow/Slap Chop infomercial pitchman (and alleged prostitute beater) — just had one of the worst box office debuts since The Oogieloves in the BIG Balloon Adventure.

The movie, called InAPPropriate Comedy, earned $172,000 from 275 theaters this weekend, yielding a wretched $625 per-spot average. According to its IMDb description, the Freestyle Releasing film follows what happens when “a computer tablet full of the world’s most hilariously offensive apps breaks through the borders of political correctness, stirring up cultural anarchy.”

Dad turns son into police for £3,700 (USD $5,615.31) iTunes bill

Policeman turns in son who ran £3,700 iPad bill

A policeman turned in his own teenage son for fraud in a bid to escape a £3,700 bill on his iPad, which the teenager had ran up by mistake.

Doug Crossan, 48, was taken by surprise when his credit card company rang to tell him of the large balance outstanding, which he believed he had paid off six months ago.

His son Cameron, 13, had "innocently" purchased apps over three months from iTunes, the download selling arm of Apple, that had cost as much as £77.98 each.

Live squid bomb found in Guangzhou, South China market

Live bomb found in squid

A fishmonger in the south of China was gutting a squid for a customer when his knife hit an eight-inch live bomb.

The squid, which was itself more than three feet-long, was caught in the shallow waters off Guangdong province, China, and taken to the fish market in Jiaoling county.

"This sort of squid lives close to the shore and normally makes a meal of small fish and prawns," said the fishmonger, who gave his name only as Mr Huang to the local Guangzhou Daily newspaper.

"Perhaps he thought the bomb was his favourite food and gulped it down. He certainly had a big belly when he was caught," he added.

The bomb weighed around three pounds and was shaped like an aubergine.

Local police suggested it might have been dropped by a fighter jet but did not date it.

John Anderson, 48, became enraged by motorists dumping their car outside when council workers painted yellow lines on the road – but not outside his property.

Robotics services engineer John took matters into his own hands and painted the lines across the front of his £165,000 two-bedroom home last week.

5 sick after fast food outlet in Japan served bleach as drinking water

Tokyo: At least five people who were served bleach-laced water at a Mister Donut store in Japan had to be treated by medics, the operator said on Monday.

Duskin Co, a Japanese cleaning company that also operates the US fast food franchise in the country, said one of its stores in Osaka served a diluted solution of bleach as drinking water on Friday.

The mishap occurred after a worker poured the solution into a pot used for drinking water as part of the cleaning procedure at closing up time the previous day, the company said in a statement.

Accident leads to school completely banning triangle oatmeal snacks

School ban on 'dangerous' triangle oat snacks

Kitchen staff were ordered to cook rectangular or square snacks instead after a pupil was hit in the face by a flying oaty morsel.

The Year 7 lad suffered a “sore eye” when he was accidentally struck in the face by the 4in-long snack chucked by another child.

He was instantly patched up and sent home for the afternoon from Castle View School on Canvey Island, Essex.

But head Gill Thomas quickly decided to ban kitchen staff from baking the three-sided desserts — ruling only rectangular or
