Dumb Criminals: Kentucky Man Sets Gun On Toilet Paper Dispenser

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) -- Elizabethtown police say a man was accidentally shot in the leg while using a restaurant bathroom in the central Kentucky city.

Police Sgt. David Neary told The News-Enterprise (http://bit.ly/19bV94y ) that the man left his pistol on the toilet paper dispenser while using the restroom on Sunday at the Fazoli's restaurant. Neary says the pistol slipped off the dispenser and shot the man in the leg.

Neary says evidence, including the bullet trajectory, supported the man's description of events.

Dumb Criminals: Sword Wielding San Antonio Restaurant Robber Demands Free Tacos Or Death

SAN ANTONIO -

Adam Kramer, 28, is accused of using a sword in an attempt to get free tacos from a southeast Bexar County Mexican restaurant.

A formal charge of aggravated robbery was filed against him Friday.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, a waitress at the restaurant in the 500 block of S. Loop 1604 E. identified Kramer as the man who walked into the restaurant Monday and ordered six tacos and then refused to pay for them.

The waitress told Bexar County sheriff's detectives that when Kramer was told he'd had to pay, he began pulling a sword in and out of a six-inch sheath on his waist, the affidavit stated.

The waitress said at one point when the telephone rang, Kramer walked outside, so she quickly locked the doors, the affidavit stated.

Dumb Criminals: Miami Man's Instagram Account Gets Him Charged With 142 Felonies

Criminality and social media have rarely had a harmonious relationship. There are several obvious reasons, but the most important is this: Cops have Facebook. And Twitter. And -- it has surely dawned upon 19-year-old Dupree Johnson -- Instagram.

Dupree Johnson, who's evinced an iron dedication to crime, racking up five felonies despite his youth, got down and dirty with Instagram last week, depositing some holy-mother-of-God-are-you-kidding-me images.

A Palm Beach County sheriff's deputy came across the fracas; noted that Dupree had a rap sheet including grand theft, burglary, and felony possession of a firearm; and looked more closely at the pictures. .

Man Sleeps On UA Flight To Houston, Wakes Up Alone In Locked Plane

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man was flying from Louisiana and had a layover in Houston when he says he fell asleep on the plane and was locked inside.

In an exclusive interview with the passenger, Tom Wagner tells ABC13 Eyewitness News what he did the moments after he woke up to a dark cabin.

It's the fifth largest airport in the nation. More than 40 million passengers flew out of Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport just last year.

"I was coming from Louisiana to see my sister in California. We had a layover in Texas," Wagner said. "I just took my hat off and I took a nap."

And never have we heard of a story like Wagner's.

Surviving Members Of Von Trapp Family Pan NBC's Live Performance

After Carrie Underwood performed the “The Sound of Music” in a live broadcast last night, the von Trapp family and mine found we couldn’t solve a problem like awful acting. Hopefully Ms. Underwood’s performance won’t make the next generation take the musical off their list of “favorite things.”

“It’s just upsetting that this could potentially be the final broadcast of our story,” Myles von Trapp Derbyshire told ABC upon first hearing that Underwood would play his great grandmother Maria, originally played by Oscar-winner Julie Andrews in the 1965 film. One can only imagine what he thought of the actual performance.

“And although her voice is amazing, she doesn’t have acting experience,” Mr. Derbyshire told ABC “It’s just the overall image, she’s a country star, she won ‘American Idol,’ she’s very public in kind of a tabloid way.”

It was hard for me to tell exactly what my 10-year-old son was saying with the couch pillow over my head, but it sounded like, “Can we make this stop now?”

Florida Chicken Church vs. Illinois Penis Church: Which Looks More Like A Giant...?

Last spring, tourists began flocking to Florida to cluck at a church that looks exactly like a chicken.

In October, a Google Earth user discovered that a Christian Science church in Dixon, Ill., was the spitting image of a penis -- when viewed from above.

Now that the year is coming to a close, we at HuffPost Weird are left with a nagging question: Which place of worship looks like a more realistic cock?

Man Tosses $1,000 Into Mall Of America Crowd

'Make it snow money': Man tosses $1,000 into crowd at Mall of America
By Simon Moya-Smith, Staff Writer, NBC News

A Minnesota man was ticketed after he tossed $1,000 in dollar bills from the third floor of the Mall of America into an audience watching a performance there, police said.

Vorobyov had allegedly stamped each of the singles with the address to his YouTube page before dumping the money on a crowd Friday, which had gathered in the rotunda for a performance by a trio of vocalists singing, "Let it Snow."

Serge Vorobyov said in a YouTube video following the incident at the mall in Bloomington that it was his "last $1,000" and that he's going through divorce.

Dumb Criminals: Would Be Murderer Accidentally Butt Dials Boss He Planned To Kill

A Jonesboro man has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder after police say the intended victim overheard the suspect planning the crime.

Jonesboro police arrested Larry Barnett, 68, on Thursday after being contacted by a Paragould man.

The man told Detective Jason Simpkins he received a phone call at 12:30 p.m. from Barnett.

He said it appeared Barnett had “unknowingly made” the phone call.

The intended victim said he overheard Barnett give another man directions to his home in Paragould.

During the call, which lasted approximately 1.5 hours and was ongoing when he contacted police, the victim said he overheard Barnett say, “I don’t care if you have to burn his house to the ground with him in it. I don’t care what you have to do, make it look like an accident.”

Because the complainant lived in Paragould, Simpkins contacted the Paragould Police Department and Captain Patrick Lenderman with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
