PITTSBURGH (AP) — A man convicted of child molestation has admitted mailing a threatening letter from a western Pennsylvania prison to President Barack Obama — albeit to the wrong address.

Joseph Savage pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to counts of threatening the president and threatening the president's family.

Prosecutors say Savage was awaiting trial in Fayette County Prison in October 2012 when he sent a letter threatening to "torture and murder" the president and harm a member of the president's family.

The letter was mailed to 1400 Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington. The White House is at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. but received the letter anyway.

Rush Limbaugh argued the racist chant by University of Oklahoma fraternity members would be a hit song if Kanye West performed it.

The conservative talk radio host was discussing the social media firestorm over the co-hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” who blamed hip hop music and rappers for the Sigma Alpha Epsilon chant about lynching and racial exclusion, reported Mediaite.

“Twitter is blowing up,” Limbaugh said. “Twitter should be blown up, if you ask me. Some of the most repulsive hate and disgust in this country is on Twitter. Countless, thousands, millions of times a day. But beyond that, Twitter is blowing up angry as hell at Mika Brzezinski for daring to say frat boys at OU were simply mimicking a rap song.”

Miami Gardens Police Chief Stephen Johnson, hired last May to rein in a department reeling from accusations of racial profiling, was fired Friday night after being arrested on a charge of soliciting a prostitute in Dania Beach.

Michael Wright, a detective and police department spokesman, said Johnson was arrested at a Dania Beach motel during a sting operation conducted by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. He said Johnson was immediately fired by City Manager Cameron Benson and that Assistant Police Chief Antonio Brooklen would take the helm in the interim.

The city released a statement late Friday saying, “We recently learned Chief Stephen Johnson has been arrested for solicitation of a prostitute. As a result, Mr. Johnson’s employment with the city of Miami Gardens has been terminated, effective immediately.”

Benson said the decision to fire Johnson was solely his.

Deputies say a Spring Hill couple was surprised to learn that Buccaneers tickets given to them by a neighbor were actually paid for with their own credit card. And that's not all he supposedly bought with their stolen card.

Anthony James David faces a variety of charges after deputies say he swiped his neighbors' Discover and Best Buy gift cards. They say he had befriended the couple and gave them a false name and even took them to the Bucs game with the ill-gotten tickets -- all without them knowing.

"As it turned out looking on our credit card statement, we had actually financed the entire day," Bill Callahan said. "He seemed like a really nice guy. Introduced himself as a pharmaceutical rep, and everything seemed pretty accurate with what he was telling us."

But Bill and his wife Melissa got suspicious after discovering their card has been used fraudulently to purchase flowers at a local florist, food from Panera, legal services from a Tampa attorney, PayPal services, and Verizon services. They also found that two of their Best Buy gift cards were used at Best Buy stores in Spring Hill and New Port Richey.

Phil Robertson is very concerned about the rate of sexually transmitted infections in America.

Robertson, one of the stars of A&E's "Duck Dynasty" who was suspended from the show in 2013 after making anti-gay remarks, appeared Friday at the 2015 Conservative Political Action Conference to accept the Andrew Breitbart Defender of the First Amendment Award from Citizens United.

Addressing the annual gathering of conservatives, Robertson hit on a number of popular right-wing talking points, including his allegiance to the Bible and his disdain for House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio). The speech took a turn, however, when the "Duck Dynasty" patriarch began lamenting the United States' high incidence of STIs.

"You lose your religion, according to John Adams, and there goes your morality. We're almost there," Robertson said. "I hate to admit I got my facts from the CDC the day before yesterday, 110 million, 110 million Americans now have a sexually transmitted illness."

Robertson was citing a 2013 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention analysis that found 110 million men and women currently have sexually transmitted infections.

After being spurned by his niece for a ride to the liquor store, a Boynton Beach man decided he should burn something: his house, according to authorities.

Inspectors from the Division of the State Fire Marshal said Jerome Clemons, 44, did just that. He was arrested Wednesday.

On Dec. 14, Clemons — who had already been drinking — asked his niece for a ride to the liquor store, according to a report from the agency. She told investigators she told him "No" and they got into an argument. To avoid further confrontation, the woman said she left the house.

Not long afterward, Clemons' brother arrived at the house. He told investigators Clemons was standing out on the porch mumbling to himself about being "tired of it all," according to the report.

His brother started making dinner and went out to see if Clemons was OK. Then, he saw a huge flame burning at the northeast corner of the house.

Ever since the Southern Poverty Law Center designated the American Family Association as an anti-gay "hate group" back in 2010, the AFA has vehemently objected to being designated as such. In addition to regularly attacking the SPLC, the AFA has also taken a few half-hearted steps to try and distance itself from Bryan Fischer, who was almost single-handedly responsible for getting the AFA placed on the SPLC's hate list in the first place, in an effort to salvage its reputation.

Now, it seems, the AFA has decided to take a page out of the SPLC's playbook by releasing its own "Bigotry Map" which seeks to highlight organizations that it claims "openly display bigotry toward the Christian faith":

These groups are deeply intolerant towards the Christian religion. Their objectives are to silence Christians and to remove all public displays of Christian heritage and faith in America.

Saving Christmas sweeps the board at Razzie Awards

A faith-based comedy about the true meaning of Christmas was the big winner at the annual Razzie Awards in Hollywood.

Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas won four awards, including Worst Picture and Worst Actor, at Saturday night's 35th Golden Raspberry Awards ceremony.

Other winners included actresses Cameron Diaz and Megan Fox, and director Michael Bay for Transformers: Age of Extinction.

A judge has ordered a psychiatric examination for a man who allegedly tried to pay a bar tab with a rock, and then made a bogus bomb threat.

Cops in Tallahassee, Florida say that on Wednesday, Jared Simpson, 24, visited the 4th Quarter Bar & Grill and rung up a $10 tab. When it came time to pay up, Simpson allegedly tried to get the bartender to accept a rock as payment.

When the woman decided that a stone wasn't legal tender, Simpson responded by throwing a ripped-up dollar bill at her and saying he "would pay [her] in other ways," according to the probable cause affidavit.

One witness said Simpson told people he was "shot up in the war," but would not reveal the military branch he served in because "if I tell you I have to kill you," according to Tallahassee.com.
