“During the first hours of the October 7 Hamas terror onslaught in southern Israel, IDF troops on the ground were instructed to prevent the kidnapping of soldiers into Gaza by whatever means necessary, as senior officers in the Gaza Division allegedly implemented the controversial “Hannibal Protocol,” according to newly reported testimonies of soldiers and officers.”

“ The Haaretz daily newspaper reported on Sunday that it had obtained documents and collected testimonies from troops who partook in the fighting on October 7. The data, Haaretz said, collectively pointed toward the use of the Hannibal Protocol, a military order officially repealed in 2016 that granted troops broad permission to do whatever necessary to prevent the kidnapping of a fellow soldier, including potentially endangering their life.”

Second Gentlemen Doug Emhoff tests positive for covid

“WASHINGTON (AP) — Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff has tested positive for COVID-19 after experiencing mild symptoms, his office announced Sunday, but his wife, Vice President Kamala Harris, has tested negative and remains asymptomatic.

Emhoff spokesperson Liza Acevedo said in a statement that the second gentleman “is fully vaccinated and three times boosted” and that he is “currently asymptomatic, continuing to work remotely, and remaining away from others at home.”

“Shrapnel from an intercepted US-made missile fired by Ukraine hit a beach packed with sunbathing tourists in occupied Crimea on Sunday.

Russian officials said at least five people, including three children, had died of shrapnel wounds – and they expected the death toll to rise.

"Israel Used U.S.-Made Bombs in Strike That Killed Dozens in Rafah

“The bombs used in the Israeli strike that killed dozens of Palestinians in a camp for displaced people in Rafah on Sunday were made in the United States, according to weapons experts and visual evidence reviewed by The New York Times.”

“Munition debris filmed at the strike location the next day was remnants from a GBU-39, a bomb designed and manufactured in the United States, The Times found. U.S. officials have been pushing Israel to use more of this type of bomb, which they say can reduce civilian casualties.”

“The key detail in the weapon debris was the tail actuation system, which controls the fins that guide the GBU-39 to a target, according to Trevor Ball, a former U.S. Army explosive ordnance disposal technician, who earlier identified the weapon on X. The weapon’s unique bolt pattern and slot where the folding fins are stowed were clearly visible in the debris, Mr. Ball said.”

“ The munition fragments, filmed by Alam Sadeq, a Palestinian journalist, are also marked by a series of numbers beginning with “81873.” This is the unique identifier code assigned by the U.S. government to Woodward, an aerospace manufacturer based in Colorado that supplies parts for bombs including the GBU-39.”

4 Children From Gaza Arrive in U.S. for Medical Treatment

“Among the children was Fadi Alzant, 6, a gaunt boy with pale skin and strawberry blond hair who appeared dazed as the crowd rushed around his wheelchair. An airport employee grew agitated and shouted at people to disperse and to put away their cameras.
Fadi, who has cystic fibrosis and weighs about 25 pounds, is suffering from severe malnourishment caused by famine, according to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, which coordinated the children’s journeys with assistance from the World Health Organization.”

The other children included Adam Abu Ajwa, 11, from Gaza, whose shelter was bombed on Jan. 16 by a grenade and a rocket, killing his mother and brother, according to the relief fund. The rocket caused Adam to fly into the air, damaging his head and seriously hurting his lower body. His sister, Zaina Abu Ajwa, 26, was also badly injured in the attack and flew with him to Kennedy Airport, where they boarded a flight to South Carolina.


A few feet away, people gathered around Saja Bilal Junaid, 3, the youngest of the children. Saja’s head was covered entirely in bandages except for a small opening for her eyes, nose and mouth.

Her face was charred with third-degree burns after an Israeli airstrike hit her home at Jabalia refugee camp, the aid group said. She is being taken to a hospital in Dayton, Ohio, because it was not possible for her to be treated in Gaza, according to the group
