i laughed so hard.

i watch morning joe if at all on youtube after it airs. they trolled trump so hard this morning it was hilarious. Joe was screeching and gloating and Mika just kept dropping in, "A Fox News poll" then they had 2 commentators both who mentioned the poll and one of whom asked for it to be brought up on the screen.

i laughed and laughed. i as a rule do not like joe scarborough, but i fucking loved him and the whole crew this morning.

i hope trump shit his diaper watching that.

not having the majority as much as i hate them. they'll run out the clock, lie brazenly about the Mueller report, do any fucking thing to try to keep the truth from the American people. point of order. parliamentary. take the roll. making them take vote after vote that they know very well they will lose, because the point to make sure the truth does not get heard.

Why's it so hard for us to say out loud that Trump has lost his mind?

oh well, win some lose some. I've never met him and only found out (or came to realize) that he existed. My father's been dead for over 50 years. He was 28 when this brother came along (different mother from my dad's). We connected through his older brother on Ancestry.com.

Anyway he's in Bend, OR where my trumploving foxbot brother recently moved to. They should be the ones connecting I guess.

I didn't respond, just deleted his insult. I don't even feel insulted, just resigned.

Who has a connection

however slight, to a mass shooting?

for myself, the Torrance, CA Gable House Bowl is around the corner from where I was born and raised. On my first date, we went bowling at Gable House. Later I bowled in a league there. it's been a fixture there as long as i can remember. it opened in 1959, when i turned 4 years old.

The first I learned of Sandy Hook was right here on DU, with a post by a DUer who was working with a man who had to leave the office abruptly after learning that his son was involved. I think I recall that his son was among the dead.

while growing up in that nice suburban house in Torrance CA i remember at about the age of 10 thinking I'll probably never know anyone who does murder or is murdered. I was wrong.

Looking at the TIME cover posted here just now got me thinking about it. How many are still unaffected? How many are not?

i got a job.

Been out of work since 01Feb2019. After applying to almost 100 jobs, one literally came looking for me in the person of a man i worked with previously. It's a contract position and will last 6 to 9 months, pays well, exercises all of my brain cells.

I'm so excited.

I'm 63 and being incapable of imagining a life with no income whatsoever, went ahead and started early Social Security. This job will supplement that nicely. I had severance for 4 months so really it couldn't be much better for me.

I'm so happy.

Between trump, republicans, and being 63 and unemployed, I have struggled with depression. I can't escape the awareness of the degradation of democracy and this rapid slide into fascism, but I got a job! So that's something I can feel very good about.

I'm so relieved.

Letter to my rep

Hi Rep Price,

We spoke at the Durham Meeting a couple weeks ago and I really appreciate you taking the time to interact with your constituents. thank you for that.

Now that Mueller has made it clear that ONLY Congress can make the president accountable for the crimes he committed, I am writing to implore you to pursue impeachment sooner than later. People are stacked up at the border in inhumane conditions. Tariffs are now being threatened on Mexico! the economy will fall apart. Wars that are unnecessary are being provoked. And the whole time trump tweets propaganda and lies.

It's no longer a question of whether the Senate convicts: it is do we follow the law? Are we the party of law? The constitution tells us what we have to do; if we don't do that, how are we any better than the feckless republicans who sicced this cancer on our nation?

They are not responding to your inquiries. They're thumbing their noses at the truth and continually damaging the country.
Please consider your position in light of right and wrong, lawful or lawless and not within the narrow window of what we think is politically advantageous. We cannot know the future, except that the republicans and trump will do terrible things no matter what.
It's time to impeach.
