Clearly, I need to do this better.

I've been living in a dream world, holding doors open for everyone. Going forward, what's the consensus on how I can become more highly evolved?

Sen Elizabeth Warren: U.S. success due to government regulation

Sen. Elizabeth Warren: U.S. success due to government regulation

The government not only has a right to regulate the American people, but regulation is really the key to the country’s success, Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren said on Thursday.

“It’s thanks to federal agencies that no one has to worry that those white pills are baking soda instead of antibiotics or that the paint on the baby’s crib is laced with lead,” she said, in prepared remarks reported in Politico.

...

Ms. Warren honed in on President Obama’s pick of Richard Cordray to direct the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and said Republicans who contest his nomination, and push for restrictions on the agency’s powers, are on the wrong side of the issue. They’re trying to weaken a key consumer protection, she said in the Politico report.

“Blocking Rich Cordray is about keeping the game rigged, keeping the game rigged so that consumers remain in the dark — and a few bad actors can rake in big profits,” Ms. Warren said in the Politico report.

Go get 'em Liz! Why be ashamed of being Liberals? Because Liberal policies work best!

This group needs hosts and a lead. Volunteers? Thoughts?

I'm happy to lead for starters, but I'm also happy to be a "regular" host or to do nothing at all. Mostly, I'm happy that we have Senator Warren as a national resource, and that now we have a group on DU to collect the history of her counteroffensive against the bad guys.

Please volunteer, comment, or critique below.

It's *your* group - do what you can now to make sure it rocks.

Vote now, or the dog gets it

URGENT: Help Stop Elizabeth Warren Now

Yes, that's really my dog. No, I did not steal that picture from the cover of the January 1973 issue of National Lampoon, why do you ask?

URGENT: Help Stop Elizabeth Warren Now

It's not enough that this fancy-talking Harvard professor is clogging up YouTube, and DU's front page, with her "straight talk" and "math" and "actual Democratic values".

Now some nitwit is petitioning the DU Admins to start an Elizabeth Warren group! On this very site! Can you imagine, all of Warren's exploits in one, easy-to-peruse spot that Liberals can show to friends and family? Ugh. And what would happen if a banker accidentally clicked into that group? They might get the vapors, without benefit of having a fainting couch at the ready.

This cannot stand! Tell the Admins how you feel by voting "NO" below! If we stand together, we can keep America safe for obfuscation.

Regards,

Third-Way Manny

At what point would we see an Elizabeth Warren group?

It would be nice to chronicle her deeds in one place.

Would any of the Cardinals at the conclave have been progressive?

My sense is that any Cardinal ordained under the last two Popes would have have been very conservative. But I don't know much about these things.

If that's the case, then at least it's good that the Church has a new leader that pays attention to poverty and inequality. I sure hope it doesn't turn out that Francis was complicit in Argentina's past horrors.

Religion is both a great blessing and an awful curse, depending on how it's administered. Like government, I suppose.

Elizabeth Warren: "‘Chained CPI’ is just a fancy way to say..."

“‘Chained CPI’ is just a fancy way to say ‘cut benefits for seniors, the permanently disabled, and orphans,’”
- Elizabeth Warren, FDR Democrat

Let's fight for what's right.

Thank God for Paul Ryan

Listening to that nut yammering on today with true-believer blather about killing Medicare, cutting taxes on the rich... I realized that he may be the only thing standing between us and a savage Grand Bargaining.

Hold tight Paul! No compromises! Jesus will extra nice to you in Heaven because you were principled!

P.S. Yes, Third-Wayers, this means that I've signed on to Ryan's Presidential campaign. I switched from Rand Paul's campaign which I joined last week, as proven by my being against extrajudicial executions. Just don't look up the phrase "useful idiot", it will ruin your night.
