Italy overturns 'absurd' drug law equating marijuana and hard drugs

Italy’s constitutional court has overturned a controversial law equating cannabis with cocaine and heroin. The decision could see around 10,000 people released from the country’s overburdened jails. The court ruled the law was “illegitimate,” without elaborating further.

The law, passed by former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi in 2006, has been blamed for Italy’s swelling prison population, as sentences for selling, growing or possessing marijuana effectively tripled. Official data shows that Italian prisons are operating beyond capacity, with 62,000 inmates residing in facilities meant to house a maximum of 48,000.

The prisoners’ rights group Antigone claims that 40 percent of all inmates are currently serving sentences for drug crimes. Following Friday’s verdict, the previous drug law and its far more lenient sentencing regime automatically takes effect.

Opinions on the issue clearly cut down party lines in the country’s centrist coalition government. Senator Carlo Giovanardi, one of the architects of the tough law, said the ruling was a "devastating choice from a scientific viewpoint and in the message it sends to young people that some drugs are less dangerous than others," Reuters reports.

The Shape Of My Heart

"Shape Of My Heart"

He deals the cards as a meditation
And those he plays never suspect
He doesn't play for the money he wins
He don't play for respect

He deals the cards to find the answer
The sacred geometry of chance
The hidden law of a probable outcome
The numbers lead a dance

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart

He may play the Jack of diamonds
He may lay the Queen of spades
He may conceal a King in his hand
While the memory of it fades

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart
That's not the shape, the shape of my heart

And if I told you that I loved you
You'd maybe think there's something wrong
I'm not a man of too many faces
The mask I wear is one

But those who speak know nothing
And find out to their cost
Like those who curse their luck in too many places
And those who fear a loss

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart
That's not the shape of my heart
That's not the shape, the shape of my heart[/center]

How To Screw The NSA

The Young Turks ·Published on Feb 11, 2014

"What would Americans have to do to loosen the National Security Agency's death grip on privacy rights? A group of Maryland lawmakers believe they have a solution: Make it so the NSA's engineers can't use the bathrooms.

That's the intent behind recent legislation proposed by eight GOP representatives in Maryland's House of Delegates: the bill would cut off all "material support, participation or assistance in any form" from the state, its residents, and its businesses to the NSA's Fort Meade headquarters...".* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

- It's great to see some are starting to get the idea. There's no Them without US.
Many are starting to remember that even Goliath was defeated. David didn't try to negotiate with him because he knew he was dealing with a barbarian, a thug who wasn't all that bright and who took pleasure in his dominion over others. He didn't try to match him blow for blow, because he knew that he couldn't. He was outsworded.

Nor did David petition Goliath for mercy and fairer treatment for his people. He told him exactly what he intended and stuck to his slingshot. David knew that everything has a weakness. And Goliath's weakness was his belief in his own greatness, his own superiority, his own righteousness. And once that weak spot was found, David exploited it as he maneuvered into just the right position. And once he was there, he let go the five smooth stones one after the other from his slingshot. And he didn't stop until the giant was brought down.

So he had used another weapon -- his best weapon. His mind. He taunted Goliath telling him that he'd not only end his reign, but that he'd feed him and his whole army's bodies to the carrion-eaters circling above, enraging Goliath further. And while doing so, exposing his flank as he strutted and wailed at this usurper. Demanding his obedience and that he step aside and let him have his way. But he used Goliath's own arrogance against him. Because the arrogant never think they can be defeated, you see?

When you've gotta junkie in your life -- in this case one that's addicted to the power gained from debt enslavement, oil product sales and pollution and the chemical domination/ dependency industry -- it may seem cruel and difficult maybe even impossible, but you have to cut off the supply or there will never be any peace.

And to do that, we've got to start acting like more than this:

Cannabis Helped Treat Leukemia In Teenage Girl – Doctors Publish Case Study

MINDS.com
February 10, 2014

A recent study reveals that cannabis taken orally in the form of what is called ‘hemp oil’ can be an effective treatment for Leukemia and possibly other cancers. The case study examines a teenage female who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia with a Philadelphia chromosome mutation. This mutation accounts for a much more aggressive case of Leukemia.

The patient underwent standard treatments of acute and aggressive chemotherapy as well as bone marrow transplants. It was found that none of these treatments were effective which led the family to explore alternatives. The alternative they chose was to treat with cannabinoids administered orally in the form of hemp oil.

Toronto doctors Yadvinder Singh, MD and Chamandeep Bali, ND detailed the case and treatment procedure in great depth -which should be read HERE for best analysis of the case.

In short, the patients condition drastically improved in terms of her blast cell counts, which are immature cells within the bone marrow that don’t end up maturing. This leads to problems with blood cell counts and results in various types of blood cancers like Leukemia. Although the patient ended up passing away, it was due to the standard treatment method of chemotherapy which had devastating effects on the patient. {my emphasis}

How Cannabinoids Cause Cancer Cells to Die

vito tums·Published on Mar 11, 2013

This is an edited interview of Dennis Hill and Ava Marie from her Spiral Up show. This video was created to demonstrate a possible edit of the footage.

Dennis Hill is a Biochemist and is a cancer surviver. Dennis's cancer was not treated with any of the established treatments (i.e. chemo or radiation). He treated his cancer with cannabis oil alone. You can read about his conclusions about how cannabis oil and cannabinoids cause cancer cells to die on his website.

In the original interview he does mention Rick Simpson.

Throat Slashed, Eyes, Teeth, Ear Missing - Clearly An Overdose - Huh?

The Young Turks ·Published on Feb 7, 2014

"Unanswered questions shroud the death of an East Texas man as his family rejects authorities' claims that their loved one died of a drug overdose, believing instead that foul play was involved.

The family of 28-year-old Alfred Wright wants to know more about his death in November, including why the initial search was called off after only four days and how authorities could have missed finding his body in an area so close to where his clothing was located. They also say that Wright, a father of three, wasn't a drug user, but that authorities quickly said drugs played a role in his disappearance even before his body was found.

The official autopsy concluded the death was accidental due to drug intoxication. But Dr. Lee Ann Grossberg, a forensic pathologist hired by Wright's family, said her preliminary review found things that were "suspicious of homicidal violence.""* Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian, Ben Mankiewicz and Jimmy Dore (The Jimmy Dore Show) break it down.
