gagging

I won’t "share" the things here, but there are some memes making the rounds
that are simply beneath awful.

They are insipid, inane, and incredibly juvenile in both thought and execution.

We’re better than that. So are both of our candidates.

So knock it the fuck off, wouldja?

Colorado — After Caucus

Whew, what a night!

Our site isn’t usually one of the busier caucus locations in the county. At the previous caucus we hosted seven precincts, and eight people showed up. Between then and now, two of those precincts got assigned to other locations, so we really didn’t know what to anticipate.

We showed up a little over an hour before start time in order to get the place set up. And there were already attendees waiting for us! Being good Democrats, we recruited them as volunteers to help rearrange the tables and chairs in the elementary school cafeteria. By the time that was done a long line had formed in the hallway. We had stickers to identify those eligible to participate in the presidential preference poll; we ran out of the stickers, and had to use little squares of paper attached with duct tape. We had tickets to give to people still in line at start-time; we ran out of those, too, but managed to improvise.

Once the formalities were accomplished we proceeded to the main events, the preference poll and the assignment of delegates to the county assembly and the following state assembly. By the end of the allotted time we had heard from 120+ attendees. In my precinct, there were 17 votes for Bernie, 11 for Hillary; we’re sending 4 delegates for Bernie, 3 for Hillary. And we’re carpooling together to the state assembly. Civility, we haz it.

MSnBc is faLLiNg aPart

In their haste to jettison hosts of liberal inclination, MSNBC is also apparently replacing good sound technicians with those of questionable ability. It’s become routine for them to “lose “ or otherwise botch audio connections with on-scene reporters, and the sound regularly cuts out during interviews; just happened, again, as I was typing this.

Where’s the “No shit, I was there” crowd?

Where’s the “No shit, I was there” crowd? Those speeches weren’t delivered to empty rooms. At the very least, given the number of speeches, there were hundreds of listeners, if not thousands. Those numbers include event staff, workers with no vested career interest in the subject matter; they’re always there, unobtrusively keeping glasses and plates filled; they aren’t blind or deaf, just ask Mitt Romney.

So how come no film has emerged, no tape has surfaced, no program has breathlessly aired on Fox exposing the nefarious content of at least one speech, especially in an age when tabloids pay ridiculous sums for such tales? Again, where are all those people, and why aren’t they all over the media?
