I want you to read Republican Gomorrah

They also threw the Mormons under the bus. Yeah - I know it's crazy but it is true. Black folks and Mormons were the target dujour for their targeting.

Connect the dots -

Rushdooney and the Koch Brothers Daddy.

These dots lead to a man by the name of Howard F. Ahmanson

Who is hooked in with James Dobson

And James Dobson's 'movement' had a huge influx of cash from Edgar and Elsa Prince.

And Elsa Remarried after Edgar died - and her name is now Elsa Prince Broekhuizen. She's still a member of what I understand folks in Western Michigan refer to as the 'Dutch Mafia'. In Holland MI - at one time they were the largest employer. She has four children.

Her oldest daughter goes by the name Betsy. She was born Elizabeth Prince and married into the Devos family prior to her father Edgar's death. Her husband is THE Devos of Amway fame.

Elsa's youngest goes by the name Erik - he actually testified in front of Congress about 7 years ago for his company's involvement in some of the horrors they were involved in Iraq.

Elsa - she gave a HUGE chunk to keep same sex couples from being married out of California in 2008.

The Devos Clan is giving heavily to causes to bring about the end of Public Education.

Erik Prince - in April was at a meeting of Hedgies in NYC to discuss/push Charter schools in Manhattan.

The Koch brothers are giving 25 Million to the UNCF - perhaps hoping to bring unaware young black collegiate level students at the Historically black Universities and colleges into their fold - as reported last week.

When you take EACH of these dots separately - they don't amount to much.

But when you lay it all out - when you connect the dots - it becomes crystal clear.

I'm stating it outside of the AA Group -we cannot afford for them to prevent the rights of the GLBT community. A strike against the GLBT community - after those 'dots' blamed that HUGE strike on us - it's a strike against us.

And I'm posting this to you because you ARE young hip and aware and will tell others.

Statement - Fearful Republicans - True or False

This is a direct copy and paste or a post I made yesterday - And now it's posted in the African American Group - here's the thread/post I posted it on yesterday - http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=5069970

Because . . .

Middle age and older white male Christian Dominionist Fearful Republicans have done everything they can to fuck over blacks, asians, latinos, women and the GLBT community.

They've done it by voting for the Republican Party and their IndieTeaPublican cohorts.

Not the politicians - the jerks that voted for them.

Is this true or false?

Also - is it clear I am talking about Republicans - and not White Male Middle Aged and Older DUers who are filled with awesome sauce just because they are liberal?

I'm wondering about this . . .

The Voices of Black Women

I know black women - I'm one of them. I'm 41. Been one all of my life.

We have been marginalized.

Demonized.

We are told what to think and how to say it. And if we step out of line -ooohhh boy - ooooh boy - Girl your gonna get it.

We are the welfare queens, the mammies, the chicks with her legs spread popping out babies on welfare left and right. We are the new face of AIDs. We are daughters, mothers, sisters, aunts, wives, girlfriends and friends.

And we are really looked at as shit in America. It started when a bunch of people voted for Reagan in 1980. See - he needed a scapegoat. And those folks fell for it hook, line, and sinker. We don't trust 'those' people. They can apologize. They can mea culpa all they want.

We don't like them. THEY - the voters - THEY did this to us. Them. Those ones. Over there. Those people. Not the Republican Party but the people who voted for "THAT ONE."

We live with the results of that vote EVERY Day.

They doubled down in 1994 and swept the House. More pain inflicted on us. Ohhh boy - doncha know? Only black women were on 'welfare'.

We have watched first Lady Obama being compared to a chimp and seen a bunch of punk asses make excuses for it.

We cried when the little girl in the Beasts of The Southern wild was called a derogatory term - that no one would have dared call the little girl in the movie The Help - the little blonde one.

And as for The Help - why now? Why when we have who we have as First Lady - Why do ALL kinds of Americans applaud that piece of shit book and movie? Oh wait? Does that hurt? Yeah - it was a piece of shit boys and girls. Suck it.

But this is our lot in life. We are to ACCEPT it.

There are others in more pain and distress. They have been treated worse - by us. We are the new oppressors. We are the evil ones now.

And so silently we go. What happens to a dream deferred? We have yet to know.

No one posted a specific age at DU

But if you were to reach out to us on Facebook (the minorities here) you'll find we have a very sideway shade throwing view of many folks at DU. Now as long as we keep it over there - and not here - folks should be happy.

We've gone underground to the underground and that's the way it's gonna be.

I love the numbers of young black women

Ya know? The destroyers of all that is good in America! !

Ahhh - but someone will be along any moment now and say it's not fair - we are discriminating against so and so by pointing out just how loyal black women are to the Democratic Party. Until someone comes along and gives those young women a better newer shinier deal . . .

Ross Perot almost gave me that in 1992 then my mom brought me back from the brink of insanity!

And look where they showed up

SMYRNA, Ga. (AP) —
Like an eager date, Leo Smith showed up at Mount Zion First Baptist Church with a bouquet of flowers in hand.

He wasn’t seeking romance. He was seeking voters.

As the minority engagement director for the Georgia Republican Party, Smith is helping to lead an effort to recruit African-American voters in pivotal states, a priority for a heavily white party staring with uncertainty at a country that is fast becoming more brown

1st stop - Happy Shiny Jesus People

2nd stop - Historically Black Colleges

3rd stop - the folks that knocked on my door on Saturday afternoon to try and solidify every single vote in my town for the Republican Congressional candidate

The text or a few paragraphs from it - black voting stats

Is kind of revealing

Getting African-Americans and other minority voters on board is a priority for the GOP in part because birth rates among whites are shrinking in the U.S.; racial and ethnic minorities are expected to make up a majority of Americans within about 30 years. The number of African-American voters has increased steadily: 12.9 million in 2000, 14 million in 2004, 16 million in 2008 and 17.8 million in 2012.

In 2012, blacks for the first time voted at a higher rate, 66.2 percent, than did whites, with a rate of 64.1 percent, or Asians or Hispanics, with rates of about 48 percent each.

Few of those votes went to Republican candidates; most African-American voters do not identify themselves as Republican. Exit polls conducted for The Associated Press and the networks showed that only about 6 percent identified themselves as GOP voters in 2004, and 4 percent did so in 2008 and 2012.

Once the party of choice for blacks after slavery ended more than a century ago, the GOP says it now wants those votes back. It is spending $60 million to court black voters, and a new initiative aims to recruit 300 women and 200 minorities to run for state and local office.

The shell game is on. What better way to initiate folks than at the University level of future high earners.

Not necessarily

Yes - our grandparents were staunch Republicans. But I know my grandfather started voting D when LBJ was up. That shift to solid D started in the 70's. There are still some in the solid R category - but lets face it . . . Allen West doesn't share the black elite background. Read the book Our Kind Of People by Lawrence Otis Graham. A family member of mine is quoted in there - and he shows the sharp difference between the African Methodist Church and the Evangelical Baptist Church goers in that book.

When I went to visit Spleman I rejected it as the upper classwoman I was tagged with were snotty and stuck up about two girls I befriended that weekend - one from the Bronx and one from Chicago. It was made very clear what was expected of legacy "ladies" and I was told what Sorority I wouldn't have to pledge. This was NOT my grandmother's S.C. It wasn't how I was raised.

I ended up at Niagara and it was a blessing. There I met the poor white girl from Appalachia, the 22 year old Freshman woman thr had grown up in Apartheid, the kids from 'da Bronx, the children of French Canadian immigrants etc etc. It was a blessing.

However - if the Democratic Party as represented at DU wants to piss on my back and tell me it's raining I'll start voting my economic interests. Leave poor minority folks behind, tell the LGBT community things aren't a big deal, tell women they are behaving hysterically - that's how you create sell outs.

It's what the Republican Party did in the sixtes, they doubled down when they got into bed with the likes of James Dobson and Gary Bauer in the 1980's and now we have one hell of a cultural war being instigated by the evangelical Right and they are gunning for the HBCUs.

It's funny - these two threads I read last night I read - what everyone has done for the black folks. Here's the thing about majority of the HBC's folks I know -

We have a stronger get down and kiss the ass of our ancestors mentality than we do the civil rights warriors.

My affluence as a single woman was directly related to efforts of my great grandfather - a child of Reconstruction who lived his entire life in rural Alabama and never had less than $100K in the bank - and my grandfather that except for his time in Atlanta at a HBC - lived in the same place and died with a net worth of $16 Million dollars.

Know what? They earned that. Without anyone's help and in spite of this rotten vicious country's treatment of them.

So before you throw around sell out - make sure you understand the "Our Kind Of People" subculture. The kind of people who give large sums to these schools and the UNCF because we KNOW that there but for the right womb went I.

Don't ever throw people like Allen West or Herman Cain or even Clarence Thomas in with people like my father (Tuskeegee) or my uncles (H and M respectively). Those aren't their kind of guys. They didn't have to be accepted by white elites because they were the black elites.
