Mr. Comer should have behaved as a gentleman and defended Representative Crockett - clearly stating that MTSnotface was out of order.
Maybe he was drunk - which is why he allowed that insult to stand.
He then didn't seem to understand the question Rep Crockett asked.
All she did was ask a question with context (bbbb).
I can't possibly be the only black woman at DU who has been put in uncomfortable positions while engaging in her work. For Gen X - people snidely called us arrogant. Our mothers, and aunts were called uppity.
Something that hits me? There seems to be this dominant culture belief that Rep Crockett should have "taken it".
Nope - no more. We aren't our grandmother's. You insult one of us - you insult us all. Dear Dominant Culture America - You are on notice.

Mr. Rudaeff was an ambulance driver. His father is turning 89 - and it appears there is now a two month old grandbaby in the family . . . that he never got to meet.
Out of the 132 Israeli hostages in Hamas’s captivity, 38 have been verified dead.
Article explains that some of these people have been dead since October 7 - but the Gazan Leadership (GL) aka Hamas have held onto the corpses - possibly for exchange for live prisoners in Israel.
That leaves 94 souls still being held captive by a brutal, vicious group of rapists and murderers.

The committee “was established about a week after the start of the war with the understanding that we were not receiving any information from Hamas about who was kidnapped and in what condition,” Prof. Merin explained. “We received reports from people and saw images on security cameras in localities where some of the kidnapped were dragged as bodies, which became clear at an early stage. It took the state time to understand that out of the 240 hostages, some were kidnapped as bodies and are no longer among the living.”
“We have a moral and emotional obligation to share with the families any available information, and when the committee sits, it meets for hours on the materials. We sit and analyze and go over again and again, we convey the findings and try to be sharp because the goal of the committee is to remove doubts. The 18-year-old from Houston, with ambitions of becoming a scientist and neurosurgeon, had wondered whether he would fit in at the private research university in Baltimore. He came from an urban public school where nearly all the students, like him, are Black. His family had pushed him to go to college close to home
Robinson is one of many students of color who, in swelling numbers, have transformed Hopkins over the past decade and made it one of the most racially diverse universities in the top tier of higher education. Whether this school or others can sustain such trends, though, is an open question following a landmark Supreme Court decision that sharply curtails the role of race in admissions.
In 2013, 9 percent of incoming freshmen at Hopkins had “legacy” connections, the university said, and 18 percent identified as Black, Latino, American Indian, Native Alaskan or Native Hawaiian. By last fall the legacy share had plummeted to less than 2 percent while the percentage from the underrepresented racial and ethnic groups had soared to 34 percent. The White share of freshmen, meanwhile, sank to 17 percent in 2022. Federal data show it had been 46 percent a decade earlier.
In 2018, Hopkins received a gift of $1.8 billion from alumnus Mike Bloomberg — Class of 1964 — to make the university’s admissions “forever need-blind.” The gift shattered modern philanthropy records. Few colleges or universities can hope to land donations on that scale — especially donations targeting financial aid

When there is ONE black student - will that still be too many?
When they lose their first job because they can't manage in a diverse environment - will they blame a black person?
Wait until they hear about legacy students. Right now - I want that kept in place.
Know why? Won't impact low income African American students. It WILL hurt the people who opened the door. Give it a few years. Then they can't blame us anymore.

Our newly elected GOP Mayor I *think* has misinterpreted the law. She is using the law to remove planning board videos from YouTube and to not allow Council Meeting commenters to verify their address at Council Meetings. In addition - she is stripping our Borough web site of past meeting minutes and planning board/historic preservation committee minutes and approvals.
I have reached out to the program Administrator in Trenton via email, but I'm wondering how other municipalities are managing the law.
Covered Persons should only include the following:
Active and retired federal and state court judges, prosecutors, and law enforcement members may request redaction of certain personal information from the public-facing sites noted above.L
I take that to mean residents and business owners who do not fall under that definition - can be compelled to provide their address, and prior meetings CAN be maintained on public sources as long as the addresses of Covered Persons are redacted.
Am I wrong here?

Democratic strongholds like Rahway could prove to be essential to Malinowski’s strategy in the run-up to the election. The town was pulled into the 7th District through the same redistricting process that upped the count of Republicans overall.
