The NRA - as usual - a bunch of snakes slithering around on their bellies showing Americans every single day that they are a bunch of good for nothings.

Angered by O'Malley's strong support for a package of gun safety laws enacted in Maryland in 2013 following the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, the NRA claims O'Malley "imposed the most draconian new gun bans anywhere in the country" before offering attacks from the top two members of NRA leadership.
NRA executive vice president Wayne LaPierre is quoted in the article claiming O'Malley "has presided over some of the most spectacular, bloody and brutal failures of 'gun control' in our nation's history," while NRA top lobbyist Chris Cox suggests O'Malley becoming president could trigger "a fight for the survival of Second Amendment freedom as we know it."
The NRA also objects to O'Malley's response to the massacre of nine parishioners in a historically African-American Charleston, South Carolina, church in June, sneering that the former Maryland governor acted "decidedly un-presidential" when he wrote an email to supporters declaring he was "pissed" about inaction on gun violence while calling for bans on assault weapons and stronger background checks on gun sales.
I don't know about any of the rest of you who detest the NRA and everything they stand for but . . .
Am I the only person saying to myself . . .
I can't find that one fuck I'm supposed to give about what those pieces of shit at the NRA think is Presidential or not.

At the beginning, he tips his hat to President Obama -

Just wanted to clear up the headlines that O'Malley is JUST DOING THIS NOW.
He's not. He's as pissed as the rest of us who want these bullshit shootings to stop - and he has been.
A National Database of gun owners, finger prints, limitations on the types of guns one can own - these are tough and expensive choices -
But it has to happen. Understand - among you at DU (for those who want no limitations on gun ownership in case The Gub'mint does whatever
) are Democratic Party Members for whom this issue is non negotiable.

We are a home with guns. Yes - multiple guns. Like two handguns and numerous hunting rifles. We also have bullets for these. We would pass finger print, mental health, background checks - we have no fear.
My cousin was murdered by having a bullet put in his head by a kid trying to get into a gang (black on black violence - random shooting) on April 13, 1991.

I've never thought that Mitch McConnell was a bigot - more of an opportunist who was desperate to hang onto his bought and paid for job (his father in law has mega bucks).
But I have to admit - it makes me look differently at him - it also makes me wonder . . .
How can he stand being around some of those racists in his party?

The moment where Congressman Lewis wasn’t allowed to speak to Occupy Atlanta has become racially charged. It looks like a predominantly white crowd turning away a black civil rights hero. So I hate to try to put you in a bubble, but how do you characterize your own ethnicity?
No, it’s OK, I think the move to pretend to “color-blindness” is very dangerous. My four grandparents come from Italy, Africa and Spain. I’m a quarter black. In terms of “bubbles,” when I’m filling out forms, I bubble in Latino, black and white. Growing up in Pearl River, my friends were Irish Catholic, and being of mixed race, I was the minority. I’ve never been white enough for the whites, or Latino enough for the Latinos; it’s actually the black community that I’ve felt most at home with. So it’s ironic, the John Lewis thing.

That might have been crude. I’m talking about the segment of the black community here that feels ignored and disenfranchised. Here in Atlanta, there’s very much a class divide. I think a lot of black leadership, and black church leadership, tends to be separated from the urban poor black community. Politically, things have to be pretty noncontroversial for many in the official black church to get involved, and when they do, their answer is, go out and vote for the Democrats! That’s very unsatisfying to a lot of us

It wasn't until King got real pissed off about how black workers - state employees - not corporate or business - were getting treated - that he got killed.
Loeb, the white mayor of Memphis who entered office in January 1968 - refused to recognize the rights these men had that white sanitation workers had around America.
Loeb:
Refused to take dilapidated trucks out of service (the malfunctioning garbage truck Echole and Walker were hiding from the elements in. ***Note - they were not allowed to say - stand on a porch of a white owned home to hide from a rain storm. The color line remained even for those who were employees of a government. That's why they were in the back of the truck.
Refused the men overtime who worked late into the night.
Hundreds of HARD WORKING BLACK MEN who were employed by the city in the state of TN in the country USA relied on welfare and food stamps because their wages were so low.
Then Echole and Walker are killed - and get this: Their families were not given the same kind of workers comp that say - a white male city employee would received when killed on the job due to unsafe working conditions. Because they were black men though -can we just go on ahead and point out how uppity and racist the white folks were in Memphis? Good enough to pick up their garbage - yet disposable when working in inclement weather. You can't make this shit up - this is America. *sigh*
And that's where it came from.
Had the white leadership - elected leaders - of government treated their TAX payers and citizens fairly without regard to the color of their skin . . . had they treated them like men -
MLK would never have been on that balcony and he never would have gotten shot.
This is basic knowledge that black Americans are given to them by their parents because the white owned/managed public school system doesn't want white kids learning the truth about their grandparents.
Heaven forbid people are taught that those 1000 workers up against 4K armed national guardsmen were black folks. We'd need a helluva lot of smelling salts if this information got out.
