If not Susan Rice...who do we pick?

Personally, I see the Susan Rice things as a witch hunt, especially since the GOP hates the fact that they have been run out of Massachusetts, despite running Mitt.

However, I do want to put up a question..if we do not put Rice up, is there anyone else that would make a good, LIBERAL, Secretary of State? I myself want Kerry to stay where he is, so that the Senate remains strong. I myself would like, and yes, this is a shocker, Dennis Kucinich, but I know he is a long shot.

So DU, is there anyone else YOU would pick?

From 'best' to 'worst' run states, Florida fares poorly

http://www.tampabay.com/news/business/economicdevelopment/from-best-to-worst-run-states-florida-fares-poorly/1263492

I wish i was surprised, but HERE is the real telling quote:

"Florida fell between No. 41 Louisiana and No. 43 South Carolina."

Two things we need to do in between now and 2014

We need to preemptively crush two candidates foe the election, Rahm E. and Cory Booker. Even if Clinton does not run (and we all know damned well she said she was not going to run in 2008), the emphasis will be on sopping up the soggy center, despite the fact that by now, it should be a foregone conclusion that the demos need to listen to, if not outright pander to, their base.

There is not much to stop Hillary from running and winning; too many people want her, despite the fact that I cannot understand how so many on the left think she is to the left of Obama. However, we can crush Rahm and Cory, especially as both are GOP in Dems clothing. This is dangerous, as the center will know they can offer shelter to all those right wing fools who know the GOP will not save itself.

Can we replace the CIA?

It seem that the CIA has been, at best, a weak performer, at worst an actual menace. I can understand that the reason they made the CIA separate from the FBI was a fear that J. Edgar Hoover would turn it into his shadow Empire, as he did the FBI. Heck, the FBI still managed to pull off CIA style dirty tricks under cointelpro, as MLK's family can tell you.

However, perhaps the problem is that the CIA is separate; they know they account to no one. If we folded them into the FBI, making them the MI6 to the FBI's MI5, could that help get a better class of agent, or at least, one more accountable?

a short, clear thought on the general

It is sad that this person could have supported the Iraq war, supported Afghanistan, done who knows what sort of unspeakable atrocities as CIA head, and yet, the thing that brings him down is that he feel for the old Honey Trap.

Sadly, the one who did this was not some Mata Hari femme fatale, but very likely, some woman who already has a book deal signed or a reality TV show planned.

So, what does that say about this culture: kill a few thousand Arab women, good, fuck an American woman, die.

Grover Norquist: Obama 'Has Never Sat Down And Civilly Talked To People Who Don't Agree With Him'

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/12/grover-norquist-fiscal-cliff_n_2117860.html

My comments:

There gets to be a point where you realize that someone is not merely wrong, not misguided, not uneducated or ignorant, but simply outright DELUSIONAL. I am not a shrink, but I really wonder where Grover's head is at if he thinks he can write crazy things like this and have any credibility.

When Grover says a line like:

"He is not used to being in the room with people who don’t say ‘Yes sir, I agree with you on everything.’ It’s not easy for him even if he wants to do it.”

Considering that his advisers include such "passive" people like Rahm Emmanuel, Hillary Clinton, Van Jones, Joe Biden, we all know that no one has ever told him NO (sarcasm.) If anything, the thing that we liberals were angry about is that Obama surrounded himself with people who disagreed with him, AND THEN TOOK THEIRADVICE INSTEAD OF WHAT WE WANTED. We know that was how many ideas like single payer got forsaken.

When Grover says:

"The president was committed; elected on the basis that he was not Romney and Romney was a poopy head and you should vote against Romney and he won by two points," Norquist said on CBS' "This Morning" Monday. "But he didn't make the case that we should have higher taxes and higher spending, he kind of sounded like the opposite."

Poopy Head? Really Grover?, did your brain stop growing at 12? No, Obama did not make the case we should have higher taxes and spending, WE made that case, and he had to follow along after spending his first term thinking there was a way to appease you GOP bastards if we could only sit down and talk with you. You really do not seem to understand that we in America have grown disenchanted with the one percent. It might have been fine when there were jobs, when someone could work hard, save money, and do something with their lives, even follow the old "American dream" of a business, but you folk have not only fed on the sort of blue collar workers that used to carry your weapons into battle, you have not even acknowledged the grievance, as if God himself meant us to do nothing but be means to your ends. At least the old quasi aristocrats had to put on a good front, to pretend they cared about those below them. The modern, Ayn-Rand devotees you are an example of do not even act like they have ANY responsibility, not even for the obvious FAILURE to WIN after spending hundreds of millions of dollars.

If you were the business man you fashion yourself, you would realize that to the American business man, a "win" is NOT a subjective term. If a Millionaire spends money to get a result, they want THAT DAMN RESULT, exactly how they want it! Any trip to an expensive restaurant can tell you that, as these emperors and divas will gladly make a show of denying a tip, simply because their Creme Brulee was not up to some subjective standard that even an Angel could not cook. But this is where it gets good Grover, you see, as much as you are doing the song and dance on Fox, the Patricians know they did not get what they want, and they are looking for a scapegoat, and frankly, you look good for the part. If you think that they will show any loyalty and mercy, then finally, you might get a taste of what the rest of us have known for years.

No one wants to have spent half a billion dollars to hear that "your competition called your employee a poppy head." If you tried that in a real business, you would be tossed out like a fastball in a Yankees game.

Grover N's article on Huffpo (BARF ALERT!)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/grover-norquist/republican-house-obama-reelection_b_2088071.html

From the article: "In the national elections for president, House, and Senate, American voters confirmed the status quo."

You know Grover, I under stand that when someone loses as much money, helping to effectively destroy one of America's politicalparties, you might be a bit delusional. The fact is you lost, and the fact you lost as hard as you did should be what destorys you. Sadly, it willnot yet, but the wheels of justice do turn, and sooner or later, we will laugh as they grind your little gnomish bones to dust. That is, if the GOP decides not to make you so small they can drown you in the bathtub..

PS: Arianna H> you can stop posting these articles now to appear "fair and balanced." You know if you want your girl Hillary in 2016, you will need Obama's help. Yes DaHlink, I know that you are used to people like Obama being the help, but right now, Obama is not the chauffuer, but the one in the driver's seat. Rest assured, if Mitt won, he and his GOP would have thrown you to the dogs, despite the many ways you tried to help them!
