e.g. It would have been most unlikely for people from Thailand (Tammy's mother is Thai) to be in America in the 18th century fighting in the Revolutionary War...What Kirk was ignorant of is Tammy's heritage on her fathers side, which apparently included ancestors who fought in that war.

There was no misunderstanding if anyone thought I was suggesting using asterisks..My point was to indicate it as unacceptable using asterisks OR quote marks or any of the other things we do here with offensive terms, I.e. "the "n word". I doubt I can be any clearer than that.
