Companies are amassing a huge amount of data about you.

I Got Access to My Secret Consumer Score. Now You Can Get Yours, Too.
<excerpt>
Every so often, journalists lament these systems’ inaccessibility. They’re “largely invisible to the public,” The New York Times wrote in 2012. “Most people have no inkling they even exist,” The Wall Street Journal said in 2018. Most recently, in April, The Journal’s Christopher Mims looked at a company called Sift, whose proprietary scoring system tracks 16,000 factors for companies like Airbnb and OkCupid. “Sift judges whether or not you can be trusted,” he wrote, “yet there’s no file with your name that it can produce upon request.”

As of this summer, though, Sift does have a file on you, which it can produce upon request. I got mine, and I found it shocking: More than 400 pages long, it contained all the messages I’d ever sent to hosts on Airbnb; years of Yelp delivery orders; a log of every time I’d opened the Coinbase app on my iPhone. Many entries included detailed information about the device I used to do these things, including my IP address at the time.

Sift knew, for example, that I’d used my iPhone to order chicken tikka masala, vegetable samosas and garlic naan on a Saturday night in April three years ago. It knew I used my Apple laptop to sign into Coinbase in January 2017 to change my password. Sift knew about a nightmare Thanksgiving I had in California’s wine country, as captured in my messages to the Airbnb host of a rental called “Cloud 9.”

“The heater in the room with the big couch has been running since we got here and we’re not sure how to turn it off,” I wrote on Wednesday afternoon.

“The air in the main house is really musty, like maybe there’s a mildew or mold issue,” I wrote on Thursday, then added apologetically, “Sorry to be bothering you on Thanksgiving!”

STOP THIS SENTENCING SHIT!

I have read about several cases where the rapists served no time.

<snip> A family court judge in New Jersey has been roundly admonished by the state’s appeals court for ruling that a teenager accused of raping an intoxicated girl and then sharing a video of the assault with friends deserved leniency because he came from a “good family,” was an Eagle Scout and attended “an excellent school.”

“He is clearly a candidate for not just college but probably for a good college,” Judge James Troiano of Superior Court wrote of the 16-year-old defendant, identified only as G.M.C. in court documents. Troiano went on to question whether the rape victim and her family had understood “the devastating effect” that pressing charges would have “on G.M.C.’s life.”

The judge also argued that rape “tradition[ally]” involved two or more males using a weapon to threaten a victim in an “abandon[ed] house,” “shed” or “shack” — circumstances not matching G.M.C.’s alleged crime.<snip>

The Uranus Effect

I have read and watched all the sturm and drang about impeachment. I believe we have to act on that. However, there is a lot of crap going on that we cannot begin to know.

I still trust Pelosi. She has never proven to be scared of doing her duty nor scared of
Trump. She has a poker hand and she has no tells. No matter what her cards are, she is a master of bluffing. Pelosi also also knows how to push Trump’s buttons.

She is not acting like I think a lot of us and a lot of other people think she should. It seems out of character.

I call it the Uranus Effect. Scientists knew Neptune existed before they ever could lay eyes on it. When Uranus reached a certain part of its orbit, it “wiggled.” These movements could not be explained unless there was another object nearby whose gravitational pull moved it.

I think her actions are in line with what she knows about a lot of things from info she is picking up to the workings of Congress. I believe there will be only one chance at impeachment that does not get hopelessly bogged down.

She knows she cannot wait for a perfect case. There is no such thing. She does know what may be needed and when. Could she be making a mistake? Yep. Is there a better person to lead this effort? I don’t think so.

Fingers crossed that I am right.

Impeachment

This is going to be an arduous and politically explosive process. There are ZERO Republicans who will fulfill their constitutional duty. When Nixon was impeached, there were some and that made it a little easier.

Once this starts, we will be on a train that may just runaway. Do not underestimate the tricks in DC that will be used and the Trumpkins throughout the country.

They charges should be investigated and the strongest ones laid out and broadcast far and wide. We cannot afford to go forward with a even a somewhat weak charge. They will beat that one to death.
IMO there should be constitutional lawyers(or those best qualified) preparing the case to be as thorough and tight as possible. It should be done with all deliberate speed.
Mueller’s report helps but Congress has to see the unredacted version. Who knows what awaits there?

In addition, it is time for the Dems and the chairs to lay down the hammer on not receiving documents and other problems that are processes mandated by our laws. They need to study the rules used in Congress and find ANY point that can be used against Trump and the GOP. Then they should be on national news EVERY DAY forcefully pointing out the refusal of the GOP to adhere to the rules. Trumpkins won’t care but the other voters who can decide the election will hear it and take note.

In addition, every effort should be made to get McConnell out of office. Taking over the senate would be best, but turn the rules on him like he twists them now. His announcement that he will block everything if Trump is elected is tantamount to blackmail and whatever else.

Do not make it easy on Trump. AND the Dems have got to get people out front strongly pushing the message. I would not use Pelosi or Schumer except to introduce newer faces. There are several people who can present a relatable but stern front. Katie Porter comes to mind. Barbara Lee is another.

These are just some suggestions. I know you can pick everything apart. We CANNOT go into this without being fully prepared and anticipating as much as possible.

I do not believe this will be as easy as 1-2-3 and off to the Senate it will go.

A set of china for sale. Riviera pattern of Meito china. Norleans group. Made in Occupied Japan.

Send me a message if you are interested.

Meito china
Riviera pattern
Made in occupied Japan with Orleans also inscribed.

These are the pieces:
7- 6.25” saucers
10- 6.25” plates
12- 10” plates
12- 7.5” plates
12- 8” bowls
4- 6” bowls
1- creamer
1- cup
1- sugar bowl lid
1 - 9” tray
2 - 13” trays/ bowls
1- 18” tray
1- tureen lid
1- tureen
The china is in excellent shape. The creamer has a chip but that is all.

This china was used only once a year if that. All of the pieces were not used each time.

My Daddy got this china for my Mama sometime in the early 1950s. He fought in WWII. He ran the family farm when he got back. After his siblings were out of high school, he got married. He took a job with a new insurance company and worked there for 30 years. This china says “Made in Occupied Japan” It also has the word “Norleans” on it.
This link will take you to a short history of the Japanese china industry. Meito was founded when a man split from the Nagoya Seito Sho company which made the Noritake china patterns. This happened in the early 1900s. This company still makes china today.

It effing snowed here in NE South Carolina yesterday.

Our climate patterns are broken. I have said this for a while.
We are in a shitload of trouble.
Insects are disappearing at an alarming rate.
Weather events are extreme.
The ice is melting faster than expected and more heat is building up in the oceans.

I was reading an article about farming being in trouble in my area and similar areas. Why? Salt. Saltwater is moving into the groundwater along the coast. There has always been a different ecosystem where fresh water and salt water meet. Now that is getting effed up.

In addition, farmers are discovering brown patches where plants have died in different areas. Why?
Those huge hurricanes that dropped enough rain to bring arks to mind are dropping salt water. This has probably always been a factor but a minor one.

Thus sayeth the Grim Sneaker.
Mother Nature done got tired off all our shit. She saying you wanna mess with MY HOME? I will show you real messing.
