The Bernie campaign never stole anything. Discontinue spreading this misinformation.

Anyone continuing to spread this are going to be marking themselves.

Seriously. Just do the research.

Here is NGP VAN's statement clearly communicating that NO data was stolen --

http://blog.ngpvan.com/news/data-security-and-privacy

First, a one page-style report containing summary data on a list was saved out of VoteBuilder by one Sanders user. This is what some people have referred to as the “export” from VoteBuilder. As noted below, users were unable to export lists of people.

On Wednesday morning, there was a release of VAN code. Unfortunately, it contained a bug. For a brief window, the voter data that is always searchable across campaigns in VoteBuilder included client scores it should not have, on a specific part of the VAN system. So for voters that a user already had access to, that user was able to search by and view (but not export or save or act on) some attributes that came from another campaign.

Finally, here is the Snopes page that has been updating the fact checking on all claims since the event began. Their conclusion? Well read it for yourself!

http://www.snopes.com/bernie-sanders-campaign-data-breach-controversy/

CLAIM: Staffers on Bernie Sanders' campaign deliberately and improperly accessed information about the Hillary Clinton campaign during a brief (30-40 minute-long) data security lapse.

WHAT'S TRUE: During a brief security lapse due to a bug on the part of third-party campaign information data company NGP VAN, four staffers from the Bernie Sanders campaign had unauthorized access to limited data pertaining to the Hillary Clinton campaign. The DNC has since pledged to restore the Sanders campaign's access to the voter files.

WHAT'S FALSE: The data were accessed over a lengthy period; the data were "exported" or otherwise extracted; the data were of high value to the Sanders campaign.

WHAT'S UNDETERMINED: What the staffers' intent in accessing the data was; whether the Clinton campaign engaged in similar activity during the 2008 campaign but was unsanctioned (as asserted in a suit filed by Sanders' campaign against the DNC); under precisely which circumstances the staffers accessed the information; the manner in which the proprietary software operated and the ease with which such data might be accessed deliberately or inadvertently.

There. This is now settled.

UPDATE: Here's a piece of logic that also needs to be mentioned.
We are confident at this point that no campaigns have access to or have retained any voter file data of any other clients; with one possible exception, one of the presidential campaigns.

No one has retained anything, with of course... One possible exception.

If it were Bernie... Then the DNC wouldn't have buckled to his lawsuit threat. They could have kept the data from Bernie and stood proud today.

But they buckled. Wonder why?

Maybe it's because they don't actually have the dirt on Bernie. And maybe that one possible exception is some other campaign.

OMFG Bernie Supporters are flooding Hillary's facebook page!!! It's a siege!

Bernie supporters have stormed it. Literally, you can't see any Hillary supporters comments right now. It's just post after post of things like,

"Hillary's the establishment candidate, Bernie is for the people."

"You just lost any possibility for the presidency, Bernie voters will never vote for you if you did get the nomination."

"You have just woken up the beast. BERNIE SANDERS 2016."

"Too bad you're not going to support Bernie the same way he supported you with the email scandal."

Just go and see it. It's amazing. The wrath is real.

is the DNC going to attempt to kick Bernie out of tomorrows debate?

since Bernie filed a lawsuit, do you think they're going to counter with that?

Here's how insignificant this Bernie Data Breach is...

So one of his staffers got access to a database of Democratic Voters contact info that the Hillary campaign had?

....Aren't these the same contacts that both people have access to?

What is it, a list of all the numbers Hillary has called? Seriously.

SCANDAL!!!?!?

Ummm... Whooptee dooo?

How does this hurt anyone? At all?

I understand that rules are rules but... Hillary's still undergoing a federal investigation herself isn't she? For possible mishandling of confidential federal data and private servers?

*Shrugs*

Hey, if you Hillary supporters are salivating over this Data breach by Bernie, you should really take all data breaches and data security seriously. You're just showing that you're eager to defeat Bernie when you parade with this. After all, I thought Bernie wasn't much of a threat to you?

lol Come on guys. Get real. I have faith that Bernie will handle this just fine, and he won't make jokes like, "Wipe a server? Like with a cloth?" :/

December 18, 2015

open letter to DNC. LOL you really think Bernie even needs that dem database?

You really think the majority of Bernie's following comes from only registered dems anyway?

lmao

Bernie's got friends ALL AROUND.

honestly, the DNC database isn't the only database either so meh...

I guess Bernie just won a useless online poll.

The Democracy for America endorsement was awarded to him because of it.

Each voter had to give a name, email and zip code in order to vote.

He won with 88% of the vote.

That margin, and the info required before being able to vote, is a giant wave. Bernie has the majority.

Bravo Bernie!! FEEL THE BERN.

Another thing about online polls.

I've posed the question already.

Online polls are accessible to all of us. More so than to those who actually receive phone calls from pollsters.

I can't understand the reasoning as to why Hillary supporters can't be able to vote for their candidate as much as Bernie supporters vote for ours.

No excuse, it's 2015, you can multitask and vote online at the same time as volunteering for Hillary.

Now here's what just made me think about this again.

The current general state of the GOP primary is Trump in 1st, Cruz in second, Bush/rubio/carson in third.

The current online polls for the debates reflect exactly what pundit polls are saying about them. They pretty much match up.

So why aren't the democratic polls matching up? The online polls OVERWHELMINGLY and MONSTROUSLY lean in favor of Bernie, while the pundit polls skew differently in Hillary's favor.

So why is it that the Republican polls match up with their online activity, but ours doesn't?

That's really fishy to me.

Hillary supporters can waffle about saying that "they're busy" "online polls are useless" but... Bernie supporters... and all other leagues vote in them with just as much vigor.

What the hell is going on?

I'll tell you what's going on. The media has obviously tried suffocating Bernie's message, they tried hiding the first few online polls that showed the people were in his favor, they actively removed facebook commentary in support of Bernie post debate...

The media is lying to us, and they are controlling information. This has become an era of information wars.

Be wary when the media is choosing a favorite for you.

December 15, 2015

I know the DU is only a petri dish in the big picture but

if Hillary has so many supporters, where the hell are they?

I know that everyone says online polling is "unscientific" but its much more accessible than phone polls and Bernie always wins those. Where are the Hillary votes?

I know that everyone seems to think that rallies mean nothing when it comes to voters but... If Hillary is so inevitable, where are her rally numbers?

I'm just saying, all these polls would lead one to believe that the passion for Hillary is in landslide mode.

But everywhere I look, there are only blips. Poll results here and there. The few groups of volunteers.

I just don't see it. It really fits the narrative of information and media control in her favor. Because the media is the only thing telling me that she's winning.

Just about every other source I look into is for Bernie.

*shrugs*

UPDATE: Just wanted to add that I expected a few Hillary supporters to say that they're too busy to do online polls and such. It's 2015, we can multitask. we can volunteer for our candidates and be bothered to vote online.

And I bet Bernie will get that important DfA endorsement this Tuesday.

And another thing!! Why does Republican online activity match their pundit polls, while our online activity does not? Something is fishy. http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251901232
