Just watched the WHOLE event in Chapel Hill...

... except for the James Taylor part where they muted the sound. Copyright, I guess.

YouTube is a wonderful thing. I actually relished the parade of locals and the dutiful applause. It was like being at a rally, but with sun. (I'm in New England).

Obama is just great. Is there a way to look at trending views on YouTube? I know I can see the number of views for any particular thing, but I'd be interested in comparisons.

Why do you go to 538?

The only thing I've found that 538 has that the Upshot doesn't is a list of new polls as they come in over the course of the day, all gathered in one place.

Anything else I should be looking at?

P.S.
I don't mean to imply a negative opinion about 538's predictions and analyses. I recognize that it's a worst case, with a complex algorithm. I was looking at the layout of the websites and the ease of finding good info.

Obama's most positive and candid endorsement of Hillary that I've heard.

It's so impressive that I'm sure it must have already been posted, but just in case. The important thing is the video with NowThis. Scroll down a bit.

President Obama is spending this week making the case for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, whose election he sees as holding the future of his legacy. He’ll make campaign stops in Florida and North Carolina leading up to Election Day, following a raucous stop in Ohio on Tuesday. All the while, the president is making appeals to the voters who backed him in 2008 and 2012 through radio and social media interviews

Pick me up ad on NH radio.

I was driving in Maine, along the NH border, desperate for a radio station other than NPR (which had something I'd heard) or religion. A stopped at good clear country music station and soon heard quite a lengthy ad by a man with a very attractive voice, who listed several military stints abroad and his life long Republican record, and then explained why he would vote for Hillary. The reasons were his trust in her to handle our military and his revulsion at Trump's attitude toward women. He has 3 daughters. There were two brief Trump clips, "I understand ISIS better than the generals" and.... I forget the other.

Anyway, it's the first radio ad I've heard at all (only listen to NPR, normally), and it was a real good one.

Some questions about tracking polls.

I understand that they use the same pool of voters over and over and that the pool only changes when people drop out (disappear, I suppose.)

1 - Is there an arrangement so that ALL the people in the pool respond to each survey? Or do they just get responses from whatever subset of the pool happens to answer the phone?

2 - How often are surveys taken? I went to one of the tracking sites and it seemed like there might be one for every 5 working days and one for every weekend. Possible?

All surrogates should take lessons from Bill Weld.

I posted about this yesterday, but didn't have a link.

Absolutely superb interview of Bill Weld by Don Lemon!

He said the stuff we've been wishing someone would say! A breath of fresh air.

I don't know how people get links to this sort of stuff. If anyone can, please post it here.

My opinion of the Rasmussen poll is changing....

OOOPS! I got Rasmussen mixed up with LA/Times and IDB...

Still, nice to see this for a change.

Original Post

Illogically, since it's a tracking poll, and it's methods and pool haven't changed at all. But its results indicate that it's pool is wising up. And NOT getting swayed by stupid e-mail flap.
