Today's anecdotal report from Moscow

Without going into detail, my wife is in touch with several long-time residents of Moscow. They report that the entire city is in shock over Putin's barbaric assault on Ukraine. Even the formerly staunch supporters of Putin are outraged with his naked aggression.

Right now, they are frozen in place with disbelief, trying to make sense of what is happening and how they could have been so easily deceived. Anecdotally, they tend to attribute the recent turn of events to Putin suddenly snapping out of his mind. Not a very convincing explanation for me, but, these people are shocked and lost for explanations. It might take some time for them to come to their senses.

One thing is for sure: all the polls from a week ago that were showing support for Putin in excess of 60% can be safely thrown out the window or otherwise disposed of.

Want to support the people of Ukraine? These apps and websites can help you send money

Reposting from LBN

As world leaders have cautioned for weeks, Russian president Vladimir Putin has launched what President Joe Biden called an “unprovoked and unjustified attack” on neighboring Ukraine.

The military operation has triggered international condemnation, with fears of mass casualties, and many are looking to support the Ukrainian people in some capacity, with donations that go towards medical supplies, humanitarian aid, psychological services, military equipment, and other causes.

A handful of vetted non-profit organizations have been shared by journalists for those looking to help, with various sites, apps, social media pages, and crowdfunding initiatives to provide monetary aid for various charities and platforms

There is also a crowdfunding web site set up by the Ukrainian government, but I can't find a link to it or information other than what's included in this article:

I wonder what the Mazars backpeddling on Trump's tax returns will do to Weisselberg.

He was the one who was submitting fake data for Trump's tax returns to Mazars. Ten years of fraud confirmed by a top accounting firm.

Trump may have a legitimate excuse to throw Weisselberg under the bus now, and Weisselberg may be looking forward to losing everything except his moustache. I wonder if this will loosen his tongue.
