Can Jeff Sessions unrecuse himself to fire Mueller ?

Rachel and Lawrence were talking about how Trump could get around Sessions recusal to fire Mueller, but we already know that Sessions was involved in Comeys firing. They were talking in terms of forcing Rosenstein to do it, or sack him and go down then DOJ line until someone does.

We also know Sessions is a belly crawler after not resigning in the face of Trump's onslaught yesterday. Seeing as there is an effort to now get dirt on Mueller, it's surely possible for Trump to get Sessions to fire Mueller on fictitious grounds that have "nothing to do with Russia" ?

If Trump called Sessions into his office, and said I'm going to fire you unless you fire Mueller, what do you expect Sessions to do ?

Yesterday, John Cornyn called Mitch McConnell a Master Legislator

How's he doing now ???

As a destructive influence, perhaps. However, what has he achieved that is constructive ? Little or none.

Will the knives be out for him now ? To go for just repeal looks like throwing his remaining toys out of the pram, and should have any moderate Rep running for the hills. This is another massive miscalculation, having called for it, to either go through with it or back down again.

Startup That Got a Seat at White House Roundtable Is Part-Owned by Kushner Family

https://www.wsj.com/articles/startup-that-got-a-seat-at-white-house-roundtable-is-part-owned-by-kushner-family-1500045800

Prominent technology-industry leaders and venture capitalists gathered in the White House’s state dining room last month to discuss tech policy with President Donald Trump in an event that Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and senior adviser, helped organize.

Seated at the rectangular table alongside the corporate luminaries, university presidents and senior White House officials was a less-prominent figure: Zachary Bookman,...

Stephen Cohen pulling for Putin on MSNBC

Stephen Frand Cohen is an American scholar and professor emeritus of Russian studies at Princeton University and New York University. His wife, Katrina vanden Heuvel is an American editor and publisher. She is the editor, publisher, and part-owner of the liberal / progressive magazine The Nation. She has been the magazine's editor since 1995.

Seriously, if this guy isn't on Putin's payroll, then no one is.

He was just on with Ali Velshi, defending Putin and Russia. No evidence of collusion - Russia wants partnership with US Putin worried Trump may not be able to deliver etc

Andre Rieu in Maastricht. Well worth a visit.

2am here in Maastricht, and just returned to my room after a night of Andre Rieu in concert. If you have the money and time, I would seriously recommend coming over. He has 3 weeks of concerts in Maastricht, his home town, and the set up is outstanding. YouTube it.

Justin Trudeau visits Ireland and the new Taoiseach

https://www.rte.ie/news/politics/2017/0704/887558-trudeau-varadkar-meeting/

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Taoiseach Leo Varadkar have reaffirmed their commitment to the trade agreement between the EU and Canada at their meeting in Farmleigh House.

Mr Trudeau is the Taoiseach's first international visitor and today was their first meeting.

Mr Varadkar said CETA - EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Economic - had more upsides than downsides and both Ireland and Canada were committed to free trade.

He said it will deliver stronger economic growth and create more well-paid jobs on both sides of the Atlantic and said Canada is looking forward to the agreement coming into force.

He also said that he encouraged the Taoiseach to get more women to run for political office.

Mr Trudeau has an equal number of women and men in his cabinet.

Mr Varadkar said it is up to others to decide if he is a feminist or not, but he is committed to getting more women elected and on those grounds would consider himself a feminist.

Both leaders spoke about the benefits of migration and said countries do best when open to the world.

Mr Varadkar said both Ireland and Canada had neighbours who were going in different directions.

The visit comes ahead of a G20 summit in Germany, where a Canada-EU trade deal and Brexit will be high on the agenda.

Fernand Armandi for Congress ?

Was just catching up with Friday's Randi Rhodes podcast (buying a stinking podcast !), and she suggested to him that he run for Congress as Ileana Ros-Lehtinen has announced she is not running for re-election in 2018. I only know of him from AM Joy, but he has always appeared to me as a passionate, intelligent progressive. Seems like a good idea to me, especially as he has good name recognition in the Miami area, but maybe those living locally have different opinions ?
