ProudLib72's JournalI Found Trump's Biggest Fan
I guess you can probably figure out that Im very happy today, Lynnette began. Donald Trump is to your generation what Ronald Reagan was to ours. I am so fortunate to have been part of both. He defied conventional wisdom at every turn. Hopefully, I will be going to the Inauguration.
Connor, who was then starting his senior year as an undergraduate at Tulane, replied almost immediately.
Donald Trump is a bigoted imbecile who tapped into the racism and ignorance in America, he texted. Youre right, he is like Ronald Reagan. Hes going to leave this country in ruins and completely ignore minorities problems. The fact that he won this election is a blemish on the history of the United States. I will not be recognizing him as my President, because much like George W. Bush he failed to win the popular vote. The only difference is that I believe Bush was a good person who was manipulated by those around him. Donald is an arrogant asshole with a history of abuse, mistreatment, and greed. He and his supporters should be ashamed of themselves, but its evident they lack the self-reflective capabilities to do so. I want you to think long and hard about what youve aided in. My LGBT friends are scared. My Muslim friends are scared. My Hispanic friends are scared. My female friends are scared. Im scared. The fact that youve gone along with his disgraceful rhetoric the entire way through disappoints me to no end. Congratulations, youve damaged America. I hope it was worth it.
While Lynette concedes Trump made the unifying pledge, she now thinks that he has too many enemies to follow through on it. There is just as much responsibility from the Never Trump people, the Hollywood Left, CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, the swamp in D.C., late night TV, Black Lives MatterI could go on and on, she says. Half of the country hates the president. Do you really think there is anything he can say or do that that will bring us together? Im all for promoting civility, but we are so divided and people are so dug in, its hard to have a conversation.

Well, Lynette, I hope it was worth losing your grandson and your country. I will not be reaching out to you.
GET YOUR FLU SHOTS NOW!!!
I just got mine this morning. Hearing this yesterday convinced me I needed to get it done ASAP:
But following a winter in which more than 80,000 people died from flu-related illnesses in the U.S. the highest death toll in more than 40 years infectious disease experts are ramping up efforts to get the word out.
https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2018/10/01/652140517/think-you-dont-need-a-flu-shot-here-are-5-reasons-to-change-your-mind
I can only remember getting it once, but that was enough for me. I don't see why so many people just chance it.
I'm saying it right now. Even if K withdraws, there must be investigations
Withdrawing does not equate to justice.
Edit: even if he is nominated, he should be investigated.
What do you make of Senator Flake's comments?
Is it indicative of the way some Rs really think but are afraid to say because of pressure from either Rump or their constituents? Or is it part of the show, allowed by Mitch because it makes the Rs look like they still have some compassion?
So if Rosenstein quits, Rump can pick whomever he wants who has already been cleared?
Did I hear that right?
If he is fired, then there is a line of succession. If true, Rosenstein needs to stay the hell put. Chain himself to his desk!

Two older women, one looked about 65 and the other around 80, were discussing politics. The older of the two vehemently stated she didn't vote in 2016 because she was fed up with politicians. The younger one said, "People not voting is how we got tRump". The older woman gave a long pause and changed the subject.
It wasn't just younger people who were convinced not to vote. Also, nearly two years in those who did not vote still haven't realized the horror show they released on the country.
Texas park employee fired for calling police, saying she'd been run over
SHRED posted the video of this earlier. This is an update.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the event happened on August 25.
Chris Hampshire, who posted the video online, said he was leaving Cedar Breaks Park along Lake Georgetown with his jet ski. He said he had accidentally went down the wrong exit while leaving and corrected himself.
A park employee was outside and saw what had happened. Hampshire says the woman then started telling him that he was going to call the police and that he couldnt leave.
Hampshire then started filming.

Serious Question: Just What Would You Do If You Were a Dem Senator?
This past week on DU has been like listening to a bunch of armchair coaches watching a football game. "They should have done this. They should do that." So now is your chance to explain what you would do, but it must be legal, ethical, moral, and substantive. Consider who we are dealing with on the opposite side of the room. Consider the repercussions Dr. Ford is facing.
And for the record, I would be doing exactly what Senator Hirono has been doing: speaking out publicly against the way the Rs are handling this.
Suggestion: Rump visit hog farms in NC and drink the water
Gov Hickenlooper drank water from the Gold King spill. Is Rump such a wuss he can't do the same with hog shit water?
