FakeNoose
FakeNoose's JournalFor my 20,000th post, I wanted to share this with my DU friends
This is my hometown, my favorite city, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
We have 3 rivers, 3 professional sports teams, at least 10 tunnels, at least 800 bridges, and thousands of wonderful, lovable Pittsburghers. It's a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
The Confederate flag needs to be outlawed in this country
OK guys, you've had 150 years of fun, but now it's over. There should be no more Confederate flags in this country. None on display, none to be bought or sold. None to be produced by printers or textile manufacturers, none to be imported from China or anywhere else.
We're DONE with this! The Confederacy means nothing any more, and even when it existed it didn't mean much. When Nazi Germany was defeated, the first thing the Allies did was to make it illegal to display or wear the swastika or any Nazi regalia. We are long overdue for banning the Confederate flag, especially when it signifies "white power" and "white supremacy" to TOO MANY Americans.
We start with civic fines, and then it escalates to confiscating banned property, and then it escalates again to throwing people in jail for multiple offenses. Does anyone disagree with this?
The Confederacy was over in 1865 - they LOST! Why are people still flying Confederate flags? Why are people (other than historic re-enactors) wearing Confederate military regalia? This all should have ended over 100 years ago.
I hate the fact that Chump and the ChumpHumping Repukes are playing into this whole Confederate cosplay thing like it actually means something. It means nothing, except that it's a direct slap in the face to Democrats who support the USA.
It's time for a real change: Sally Yates!

Allegheny County executive warns unvaccinated will be isolated from society,
considers employee requirement
If there is a mandate to be enforced, it will be a requirement of employment you'll have to show your vaccine card, Mr. Fitzgerald said during the weekly coronavirus briefing.
These vaccines cards are something people are going to be showing a lot of, he continued, adding that folks who are not vaccinated are going to be isolated from society.
Mr. Fitzgerald mentioned that 74% of county employees are fully vaccinated. His comments echoed those of President Joe Biden, who last Thursday issued an order requiring companies with over 100 employees to require either mandatory proof of vaccination or weekly coronavirus testing.

Allegheny County manager Rich Fitzgerald is Republican - however ChumpHumpers would probably call him a RINO.
Thank you Rich Fitzgerald!

I think he's got it figured out! It certainly is Chump's motto, if not the entire Repuke Party.

Phil Collins Can No Longer Drum
Dealing with health issues, he'll sing sitting down during Genesis' upcoming reunion tour
Collins, an eight-time Grammy winner on his own, "suffered severe nerve damage to his hands ... making it nearly impossible for him to even grip drumsticks, let alone play the instrument," per Rolling Stone. The nerve damage resulted from back surgeries in 2009 and 2015, per the Guardian. Collins was hospitalized after falling and hitting his head during his "Not Dead Yet" solo tour in 2017. CNN reports he began using a cane afterward. He also has diabetes.
He told the BBC that his son, Nic, would play drums for the band during the tour, which includes 14 dates in North America, while Collins will sing sitting down. "We're all men of our age and I think to some extent it probably is putting it to bed," he said. "I think, just generally for me, I don't know if I want to go out on the road any more." Bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford told the BBC it "feels good" to head back out on the road, though he agreed it was probably for the last time. "The Last Domino?" tour, delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, kicks off Sept. 20 in England before heading stateside in November.

What do astronauts eat in space?
It looks like the SpaceX crew ate pretty well. However I don't think the reindeer jerky would have interested me.

I live close enough to Shanksville, PA (a little over an hour's drive)
... however I have no plans to visit it tomorrow. Of course I've seen the 9/11 memorial several times, and I was there even before any memorial had been built yet.
My point is that Dubya going there tomorrow is reason enough for me NOT to go. I have no desire to hear him speak, or listen to the applause that's certain to follow.
My sisters and I may take a drive out there during the week, I'm not sure yet. Sept. 11th is forever etched in all of our minds, none of us will ever forget what happened. We don't want to be part of the patriotic parade tomorrow though.
